Princess Louise, Prince Aymeric and Prince Nicolas News and Pictures Part 2

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
In an interview to Het Nieuwsblad (archived here), Prince Laurent revelead, among other things, that his twin sons (who have just completed their secondary education) will both be enrolled in the Preparatory Division for the Royal Military Academy, in St. Truiden, beginning next month. He finds it important for his sons to have a military education, and they both want to improve their knowledge in scientific subjects. Nicolas will join the Polytechnic promotion (he would like to be en engineer), while Aymeric will be in the Social and Military Sciences promotion.
I very much hope that Nicolas and Aymeric themselves are also interested in a military education -as it sounds it is mainly Laurent's wish for them-, otherwise we might get a repeat of Joachim's sons who were also pushed to get into the military but found out very quickly that was not the route for them.

Just like Emmanuel, they will be attending the school for underofficers (a higher professional education institute (HBO)) and not the school for officers (university) (as Elisabeth and Gabriel did). As all three of them are about to start, they will probably do the basic training together - even though the twins are doing the preparation year (aimed at entering the Royal Military Academy) and Emmanuel seems to be doing the under officer program itself.

It looks like Nicolas and Aymeric wanted to start at the royal military academy but didn't qualify (didn't pass the entrance exam) or were not selected (passed but were not selected because there were many candidates that did better). By taking this prep year at the school for under officers they hope to qualify to enter next year.

Nicolas will take the following subjects:
Dutch
French
Mathematics
English
Physics
Chemistry
Current Affairs
Physical Education

Aymeric will take mostly the same subjects; except for Chemistry which is replaced by History.

After Emmanuel joins them, all 6 grandsons of King Albert and Queen Paola would have received military training to some degree.

With Elisabeth as their future commander-in-chief.

Emmanuel, Nicolas and Aymeric will start at the same day at the same institution. All three of them completed secondary education last month and will start their military education in the fall.

Woohoo! I was mistaken and expected Emmanuel to join next year (which seemed odd as he has already finished high school) so it's nice to know he and his cousins will start the same day.

What a day for the family!

It seems it will be the case indeed, but I think the Royal Palace hasn't officially confirmed yet Emmanuel's future plans, if I'm not mistaken

You are right. So far, it was his school, not the palace that indicated he would go to the NCO next year. So, in theory he could also be doing the Preparation year just like his cousins.

Yesterday Princess Louise was among the many young royal and noble guests at the Palazzina di Caccia of Stupinigi (former hunting lodge of the Savoy family), near Turin. Among others, Adss Sophia of Austria (Ad Georg's daughter), Carolina and Chiara of Bourbon-Two Sicilies and Alexia de Poligny were present:
Stefania Conrieri 👑 on Instagram: "‼️Oggi, nella Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi, si è svolta un’elegante festa privata che ha riunito diversi giovani esponenti della nobiltà italiana e parigina fra cui le principesse Borbone delle Due Sicilie, Louise de Belgique, Alexia de Poligny, Olympia de los Rios… La festa era per i 20 anni di Gabriella, la nipote della principessa Maria Gabriella di Savoia. @chiaradebourbon @palazzinastupinigi.mauriziano #royal #theroyalfamily #royalnews #savoia"

According to this account, the party was to celebrare the 20th birthday of Gabriella Janssens, Maria Gabriella of Savoy's granddaughter

Interesting! Where does Gabriella Janssens de Bakany live, what does she do in life?

From the limited info I could find on her Instagram account, it seems like her family is based in Geneva, Switzerland, and she's currently studying at the IE University in Madrid.

A picture also from yesterday evening, among the guests also Princess Theodora of Liechtenstein:

Louise was wearing a dress from her mother's closet.

Looking more closely at the picture taken in the evening, I've noticed that the group moved from Stupinigi to the Castle of Racconigi, always in Piedmont, another former residence of the House of Savoy. It's the birthplace of the last King of Italy, Umberto II; Princess Mafalda of Savoy and Philipp of Hesse got married there in 1925 and their eldest son Moritz was also born there in 1926

Princess Louise did not wear exactly the same dress as her Mother's in 2003 for the State Visit of the King and Queen of Norway. The upper part is completely changed.
Elisabeth Janssens is the daughter of the late Robert Zellinger de Balkany who was very rich. Her Mother Princess Marie Gabielle sold her grand mother the Countess of Flandres tiara and the her Uncle Count Charles
of Flanders Leuchtenberg tiara , both belonged to her Mother Queen Marie José.

The reason for this break is said to be the high level of mathematics. “The truth is that Aymeric simply has too much difficulty with the level of mathematics taught at Saffraanberg,” Prince Laurent tells Nieuwsblad. “We are now looking for a seventh year of specialisation in Brussels, which will better prepare him for the level of mathematics expected at university. Nicolas will continue his studies at Saffraanberg.” The prince specifies that his son “was not incompetent, but he simply had problems in two areas: geometry and trigonometry”. He studied mathematics five hours a week at high school and now had to take thirteen hours of mathematics per week.

During this autumn holiday period, Aymeric will not be twiddling his thumbs, as he is making the most of his free time. Accustomed to student jobs, during this holiday he is taking on the role of tennis coach for children.

I can relate to that. I loved mathematics, stats and graphics, after I learned them for the adult life, but school mathematics? No.
I relate to Aymeric, to this day the word trigonometry makes my spine chill. The poor thing with him is his problems are now exposed in the media for people to pass judgement on him as if a class in school defined the rest of your life. It doesn't.

Yes I hope the media don't beat him over the head with it. It is hard finding exactly the right studies, especially as you grow older and have more to choose from. Personally I say well done to him for recognising a change or pause was needed.

I applaud Laurent for being supportive of his son's decision to leave. Aymeric is no slacker, he's worked as a waiter in order to earn some extra money. I'm sure by next year he'll have figured out what he wants to study.

Courage, young man!

The Lycée Français in known not to be a School for Mathmatics. I hope he will find something more adapted perhaps abroad of Belgium . Great his Father's Support.
