Yes Caroline wore the tiara and the fringe tiara as necklace in Sweden ; I never saw Grace wearing the fringe tiara or the other tiara.
Caroline wore also the ruby earrings pic n°2 and the diamant necklace (3 rows ?)

The Fringe tiara belonged to Prince Rainer's mom, and as she disliked Grace, I think she bequeathed it directly to her grandaughter

Princess Grace's jewelry are so beautiful! I've seen her wearing them from the pictures. Thank you for the amazing pictures of her jewelry, Zubiaur:flowers:

Grace wore the diamond and pearl tiara once or twice (for Diana and Charles wedding reception for one) but she was never photographed wearing it.

The fringe diamond piece can be worn as a necklace or tiara (it was designed that way and was very popular). Caroline only wears it as a necklace but her grandmother wore it as a tiara. Grace may have worn it privately, but again, she was never photographed.

Both pieces belonged to Princess Charlotte and were left to Rainier when she died. She left her grandchildren, including Caroline, nothing in her will.

I think for Princess Grace , her hairdo was more important than the jewels.
But why at her exhibition did they show two tiaras she never worn ?

May be they tried to attract much more attenthion this sort of things at the exhibition!)))

Her jewels are stunning! I love the sapphire necklace and the tiara with rubies! She had excellent taste!

She had excellent taste. The third jewel is really beautiful. It is something I have never seen before.

Beautiful portraits. It is impossible to be more beautiful than Grace:flowers:

So, who can summarize how many tiaras does the house of Grimaldi have?

I loved both tiaras posted by Zubiaur above:the diamond and the rubies/diamond tiara. They are gorgeous!

I liked the tiara in the first picture.Generally,Grace was wonderful in that photo :flowers: Pictures No2 & 4 were really funny:she looked like one of Cinderella's stepsisters :D About the 3rd picture:why is she holding an ice-cream?Is it a "ball masque" or something?

She looks like Cinderella, not like Cinderella´s stepsisters.I do not understand why you have said that. She is beautiful and she looks like a fairy tale princess.Grace is in the ball of the century (1966).Everybody was dressed like old times...

I think she had a beautiful hairstyle, according to the Ball of the century where all ladies were well-combed in that style, like Sissi

She just reminded me of Cinderella's stepsister, because I used to have that fairytale and one of her stepsisters was depicted like that, with these silly locks and a pink dress.I'm sorry, that's what she reminded me.

I think Alexandre did wonders with her hair. But the pink ballgown is a little too pouffy for my tastes nowadays. She was so lovely in the 50s and 60s.

You see how stunning she can be?She's the epitomy of classic beauty and that is so obvious in the photos posted above.I loved the second tiara and earrings!

Grace's tiara is so magical! Not a princess by birth she became an excellent example of a true princess!!!

These earrings are really impressive and her hairdo is the same as in your avatar,Zubiaur! She looks stunning!!Does anyone know if Grace was a natural brunette?
Thanks for the info,Zubiaur!Either a blonde or a brunette, she looked perfect!
I agree, the red earrings are wonderful, but are you sure these are rubies?I think they are corals, just like the detail on the top part of her dress.
Thank you for the new pictures! This couple was so beautiful and of course, these pearls look wonderful on Grace!!

I love this bracelet. It looks like Van Cleef and Arpels!! I know she liked there jewels. Thanks for the pic!!

The pink ballgown Princess Grace wore to The Ball of the Century in 1966 is not made after a dress wore by Empress Elisabeth (Sissi). Princess Grace came as Empress Eugenie. I've also seen it in the exhibition in Monaco and it is stunning!!!
Franklin Mint made a doll, The Princess Grace Ball of the Century doll and they did a perfect job, the dress, the hair and the jewles are a perfect copy. It i sone of my favourite dolls in my collection. The parure Princess Grace is wearing (diamonts and saphires) are made by Van Cleef and Arples and they were on loan. These jewels do not belong to the Grimaldi Family.

A special exhibition featuring important pieces by Cartier has opened in Tokyo. The exhibits include some items belonging to Princess Grace.

A more detailed article about the Cartier pieces owned by Princess Grace currently on exhibition in Tokyo. Does anyone have a picture of the Poodle brooch?

All of Grace's jewelry was left to Caroline, who shares it with Stephanie when she asks for it. Charlotte's tiara was left to Rainier and Grace never wore it.
I never understood that decision. The jewels should be left to the "family" the grimaldis as whole. What will Albert, Andrea,Pierre wives shall wear as "The" Princess de Monaco
whom ever succeed Albert

what ever happened to that ruby and diamond tiara/neclace combo PGrace wore in Versaille

Grace didn't have a huge collection of jewels and nor was she particularly interested in them. She was very sentimental about the pieces Rainier gave her over the years, but that was about it.

Caroline has far more jewels than her mother ever did. Either way, the Grimaldis are one of the wealthiest royal families in Europe and can buy all the jewels they need or want for any new wives.

Maybe Grace didn't want to wear Charlotte's tiara b/c of feelings toward Charlotte, or vice versa.

That is a really good point that I had not considered. I do believe you might be on to something....

Guys, could we leave this thread for the discussion of jewellery please.
I've removed quite a few posts extolling Princess Grace's personal virtues as they can be discussed elsewhere.

thanks,

It would have been lovely to have seen Grace wear the fringe necklace as either a tiara or necklace.

Here's hoping Charlene (should she wed Albert) will do it jutice!

Does anyone have photos of Princess Grace wearing the teardrop pearl necklace that her father in law gave to her as a wedding gift? It is a large pearl with a little crown on it.
