Princess Caroline's current and former homes

Wow - I'm surprised they'd "advertise" like that.....

I agree - the hotel is advertising all of the finer points of their hotel accommodations and then they name drop the apartment across the street with the Grimaldi crest on it! That Princess Caroline has an apartment on Avenue Foch is not new knowledge. It had been widely reported that Princess Grace stayed at the family apartment on Avenue Foch when she was in Paris. I don't know if Princess Caroline now has her parent’s apartment or if she has moved to a new one.

yes they live in Le Mée sur Seine, very close to Melun & Fontainebleau, Alexandra is living there with her mother & her father when he is not traveling, sometimes charlotte, Andrea & pierre visit also le Manoir du Mée,
I live very close & often meet them, last time I met Caroline & Charlotte shopping in a shopping area Decatlon, baying sports & dance clothes for alexandra

Why do you think that Princess Caroline and Prince Ernst chose to live in Le Mée sur Sein? Is it because of the school that Princess Alexandria attends? Why would it be preferable to living in Paris? Less traffic and people?

This appartment is not on the Avenue Foch. That was were Grace and Rainier's appartment was. Caroline has one close to the Eiffel Tower.

I believe you. I have found two different hotel websites, each advertising that Princess Caroline's apartment is next to their hotel.

Their apt is somewhere on the Champ de Mars, right?

They also have Le Manoir du Mée, near Fontainebleau.

I took some screenshots of the street view of Hurlingham Lodge, which is the SW6 residence of Prince Ernst. This was the main home for him when he was married to Chantal and raising Ernstie and Chris. When Chantal left him, I imagine she got a good settlement, because she was married to him for between 15-20 years, and maybe got to stay in this house (for the boys). Does anyone know?

Disclaimer: You can't see the address on these pics. I was careful that you can't see any number or street name, but in any case, the address of Hurlingham Lodge is easy to find on google because it's a famous house.

That's a beautiful place. Now Alexandra will live with her mama mostly in there and go to her new Monaco school. But she will visit with Ernst sometimes, maybe in London.

Wikimapia - Let's describe the whole world! An interesting link where you can see Clos saint Martin (Princess Stephanie's home on the left) and Clos Saint Martin (Princess Caroline's home on the right) from the sky. We easily recognize Clos Saint Martin with the two balconies. Noticed a white car in front of Caroline's home. Enjoy !

Cool! I knew the sisters lived near each other but had no idea their villas were practically glued together!!!! :ROFLMAO::lol:

Thanks armelle!! I didn´t know Clos Saint Pierre was so big. I took a picture when i was there, but you couldn´t realize the size of the vila, probably because of so many trees. It looked like the two houses were separate by others.

I was wondering the same thing Due. I thought Steph lived in an apartment in Monaco? Perhpas I had the wrong assumption :ermm: As for Caroline, I'm pretty sure she still lives in Villa Clos St. Pierre. Although, don't the Casiraghis have an apartment in Monaco? Very confusing indeed. :ermm:

The post office and cathedral are withing walking distance, how convenient! But Villa Clos St. Pierre is right next to the Lycee Albert. The school must be noisy? Does anyone know the definition of Chlos. I tried an online translator site and I got "chlorine". I don't believe that my translation was correct.

Well, clos technically means "closed" or "shut". Just like "a huis clos" means "behind closed doors". Hope that helps. :flowers:

Clos Saint Pierre

Yes, Caroline still live in this villa. It's close to the Oceanographic Museum. in front of this museum, there is a famous submarine which belonged to Professor Cousteau. If you search pics of this submarine, you can notice the Clos Saint Pierre behind.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The street view is never an accurate perception. It's only when you see it from the sky or maybe even from a side view you can have some idea how big it is.

Clos St Martin is always described as being the color of a tangerine. What color is Clos St Pierre? It is white or off white, cream colored? The thing that's always mentioned is the green shutters.

I don´t have a picture on internet to post, only in paper. It´s from 1991, I can´t decide if its cream colored or rather pink. Not white at all. The garage doors are also green. There are big flower pots across the narrow street and a lodge with a policeman.
I was so afraid to take the pic, i thought the security guard would say somehting to me, but i couldn´t help. There was a little dark car parked there too.

Clos St Pierre sounds very quaint.

I bet the security around there, in Monaco-ville as a whole, is intense. I'd love to visit Monaco but the level of police surveillance there sounds intimidating. And in Monaco-ville, where CSP and CSM are situated, it must be the most intense of anywhere in the principality.

Here a link to a site where you can see so many and amazing pics of the princesses homes. Enjoy ! caroline monaco pictures and videos on Webshots You can search "Stephanie Monaco" to see other pictures from diiferent albums. Enjoy !:)

There is a house in there and the caption says it's Andrea's house. I've wondered before if the Casiraghi trio have their own places in Monaco. Soemtimes in the summer time Charlotte and friends are seen going to what looks like an apartment in the beach club and I wondered if it was her own place.

Clos Saint Pierre

This villa wasn't so big when Louis II used to live there. Caroline and Stefano decided to build bedrooms for the kids (on 1988). There is a movie camera, in front of clos Saint Martin, to keep an eye on the security of the princesses. :flowers:

Hello!!
Do you have more pics from the Pacha ?
It is a really beautiful "home" :)

Here are some pics of Charlotte @ her apartment in Monte Carlo: Charlotte Casiraghi Back in Monte Carlo | RDuJour

Is her apartment inside the beach club property? Cuz she is seen leaving and there's a sign that says "beach club". The apartments seem nice. And it's a big complex with all the units close knit, row upon row of balconies overlooking the garden.

I think the place at the Beach Club is not an appartment but more like a private terrace that you can rent?

I think I found the Manoir du Mée (Caroline and Ernst's home near Fontainebleau) at Wikimapia. I remember seeing pictures of it and it was across from the church. So it might be the house you see here across the street from the church Notre Dame:
Wikimapia - Let's describe the whole world!
The roof and terrace look like the pictures I've seen from the house.

^Thanks!

Yeah, maybe Charlotte rents at the beach club for special weekends with her crew. Like Grand Prix week and her birthday.

Yes, there are 26 rooms available at the beach club to rent. I knew a friend once who rented one out for a big bash she was having with her husband's (who's from Nice) family. Here's a link to the beach club's website - you can click on the rooms & suites button to take a look. Monte Carlo Beach : Luxury hotel in Monaco, Mediterranean Sea view.
As to Manoir du Mée, I have to confess I'm a little shocked. The trees are all on the wrong side. If you wanted privacy (okay, granted Mée-sur-Seine isn't the most populated city on earth, but that don't stop the paps) then wouldn't you want a house with trees - not that there are many of them - on the street side? That said, they could just move into the church - that's got a lot of trees around it

It seems like Charlotte rents one of the rooms/suites they don't show on the virtual tour. I don't recognize the balcony furniture in their website. I bet Charlotte rents the best one and it's not publicized. Considering who she is, though, she probably doesn't even have to pay. I mean, her family owns so much SBM stock, what's the point of her paying? The money would just go right back where it came from!

Glistening Seas

:twohearts: That's right they own like 30 percent of it or so someone mentioned a long time ago. they certainly are beautiful but does the sbm only own these?? Perhaps we were mistaken but didn't someone mention that the SBM owned more places in Monaco or was this it??

I don't know much about them so the pics were fab this is the first we had seen these. :heartflower:

No no, they own more. They own most of the hotels in Monaco, most (or all?) of the casinos, spas and restaurants too. To quote their own website:
Monte-Carlo SBM operates the Principality of Monaco’s most distinctive assets. It comprises 2 palaces and 2 deluxe hotels, 5 casinos, 60 conference and banqueting rooms, 33 bars and restaurants, 3 spas including Les Thermes Marins de Monte-Carlo, as well as cultural and leisure venues including the Opera, the Salle des Etoiles, the Jimmy'z night club, the Monte-Carlo Golf Club and the Monte-Carlo Country Club.
Here's their website: Luxury hotels, restaurants, casinos & Spa in Monaco - Sporting Summer Festival 2009 - Monte-Carlo Resort. You can take a look at all the different properties they own. And ever since Rainier ran Aristotle Onassis out of town - by creating thousands of new shares in the SBM and then buying them all - the Grimaldi family have always had the majority share in the Société. In 2004, it was reported they had a 70% stake in SBM (and I doubt that's changed). The Johnson family, who founded Fidelity investments, owns something like 5.5% of the shares as well. Anyway, since this is getting a little OT, I shall link it back to the original conversation and say no, I doubt Charlotte pays to rent a room at the beach club. Besides, even if it wasn't really the done thing, would you refuse if she asked? When she's the daughter of the heir to the throne? I think all the rooms are gorgeous though, and yes, I bet they have some premium suites that they don't advertise. I'd be shock if they didn't!

^Good points, Thecia. I agree with you that no one could refuse to provide Charlotte or her brothers with a room. It's truly a "duh" matter, as we say in the US. ;) I mean, there is no question. Of course, she picks up her pretty blackberry and calls someone, who in turn calls someone, who in turn, sets it up, and it's done! :whistling:
