She is more likely not to have caught it at work.

She isn't working in the covid unit. She will be even more cautious at work (using protection, sanitizing and so on) then she is outside of the hospital. Outside of work we have seen the Swedish royals don't tend to wear masks. People she interacts with, her children, nannies, going to the store. Any of these are possible exposure sources.

It's why many nurses and doctors are hermits right now. Not only because of a small concern we may bring something home. But also fear what we may be exposed to outside and bring to work with us.


I hope the couple continue to do well, and their symptoms are minor. :flowers:
 
Expressen points out the three recent events are emerging as possible sources of infection: the funeral of Queen Silvia's brother Walter Sommerlath, Sofia's care work at Sophiahemmet and Carl Philip's launch of a new brand.
The Royal House's medical staff traces the infection. It is led by the first physician, Mårten Rosenqvist, who is professor emeritus in cardiology. He has held the post since 2006.
Rosenqvist tells that there are six doctors for the royal family, and he is responsible for the members of the royal family. He refers the questions about infection tracing to the press department.
On November 12, Carl Philip and his partner Oscar Kylberg launched their joint design brand NJRD. The launch was held digitally.
But Carl Philip and Oscar Kylberg were with other people in the room they were sending from. And on Thursday, Oscar Kylberg also confirmed at his Instagram account, that he tested positive for covid-19.
The design writer and TV profile Mark Isitt acted as moderator during the event and was in the vicinity of Carl Philip and Oscar. He is not infected. He says that there were a lot of people moving in the room but everything was handled nicely.
According to Svensk Damtidning, Sofia has worked at Sophiahemmet as late as earlier in the week, just days before she showed symptoms.

Six doctors for a royal family of 6 adults and 4 children (given that Madeleine lives in Florida, I assume her family has a local family doctor) seems rather excessive or is the royal household included in the mix?
 
IF they include the Court staff it doesn't seem that much, especially if they don't all work full time just for the RF or have different areas of expertise.

I assumed all 6 would work full-time for the court (as full-time work seems to be the normal practice in Sweden); assuming that they don't have specialists just for the royal family/court but would go to a hospital in that case. For comparison, 6 of them would be responsible for over 12.000 patients in the Netherlands.

The doctors working for the court don't do it full-time.
They are:
First Physician Professor Mårten Rosenqvist (Professor emeritus at Karolinska Institutet)
Chief Physician Associate Professor Lars Wennberg (works as the transplant surgeon at Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge, he is one of the doctors who operated Daniel at his kidney transplant)
Physician Doctor of Medical Science Viveka Frykman-Kull (works as chief physician at Danderyd Hospital)
Doctor of Medical Science Veronika Agrenius (works at Sophiahemmet Hospital, specialist in allergy and lung diseases)
Professor Angelica Lindén Hirschberg (professor of obstetrics and gynecology, in particular of reproductive medicine, at the Department of Women's and Children's Health, Karolinska Institutet, and senior consultant, in charge of gynecological endocrinology, at the Department of Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine, Karolinska University Hospital)
Doctor of Medical Science Svante Norgren (Head of department at Karolinska University Hospital)
Two dentists:
Court dentist Anders Ericson (works at Karlawagnen in Lidingö)
Court dentist Erik Öhrner (owner and works at Denterprise Ab)

Margareta Thorgren said today to Expressen that Carl Philip and Sofia are feeling well under the circumstances. Thorgren had contacted them in the morning and they don't feel worse, but better than a few days ago. They work from home and cure themselves to the best of their ability. Alexander and Gabriel have not been tested, they are fine. Small children are not tested according to the doctor's recommendation.

Sofia had today a video meeting with the Board of Skandia Idéer för livet.
 
God bless her. As if breathing while pregnant wasn't a challenge enough now she has to breathe while pregnant wearing a mask and a face shield.

Anyway, did they reveal the sex of the baby beforehand with their pror pregnancies?

No they did not reveal the gender of their previous two babies beforehand, so I guess they are not going to reveal the gender of their third child before hand. We'll wait; I hope it is a girl.

During the gala, the prize "Årets värdegrundsarbete", an award that the Prince Couple's Foundation is behind, will be awarded to a school leader who, with innovative, active, systematic and persistent work on basic values, has created a safe and developing school environment that helps students reach their full potential. In connection with the gala, Sofia sent a video greeting.

But the Riksdag's anniversary performance for democracy takes place in front of an audience, despite the increased spread of infection.
- We believe that the protection measures taken are sufficient. We have followed the spread of infection and had ongoing contact with The Public Health Agency about the situation. There will be 165 people in the audience, says Anders Hagquist, Head of Communications at the Riksdag Administration.
Several in the ensemble have also been infected during the week and had to be replaced at short notice.
