Margaret was the daughter of Christian I of Denmark and Dorothea of Brandenburg.
Her father was also king of Norway and Sweden ,Duke of Schleswig and Count of Holstein.
The Orkney Islands ans Shetland Islands became part of the Crown of Scotland as part of this union.

Mary Tudor, Dowager Queen of France and Duchess of Suffolk lay in state at Westhorpe following following her death with Masses being said in her memory at Westminster Abbey by order of the king.
The coffin was then taken to the Abbey of St Edmund on July 21 1533 for burial but following its dissolution in 1538 her coffin was again moved and taken to St Mary’s Church, Bury St Edmunds and reburied beside the High Altar.

Lady Margaret Beaufort lived long enough to see her grandson be crowned the second Tudor Monarch.The Countess died at the Abbot house at Westminster and the funeral took place at the Henry VII's chapel on the 9th of July,presided over by her close friend Bishop Fisher.

Bishop Fisher later Cardinal Fisher was later beheaded by Henry VIII for refusing to accept him as the supreme head of the Church of England.

Joan,dowager queen of Scots had acted as regent from 1337 until 1339 for her son James II of Scotland.
Her eldest daughter ,Margaret of Scotland was married to the future Louis XI of France who was Dauphin of France at the time.

Joan died at Dunbar Castle and was buried beside her husband at the Carthusian Priory in Perth which they founded.
The Priory survived until May 1559,when a Calvinist mob descended in the religious houses of Perth having been stirred up by a sermon by John Knox on idolatory.
The 4 religious houses in Perth were sacked and looted ,royal tombs were not spared and were pillaged.
