Thank you for the pictures fanletizia!
I love the fact that the JRF meets so many "ordinary" people during Ramadan and do the utmost to mix with their subjects.

The first picture is so sweet!
Ramadan certainly is a wonderful and special time to see the King and Queen with Jordanians from all walks of life.

AMMAN, Jordan — A politically inexperienced king takes control of a Middle Eastern monarchy from his powerful father, surrounds himself with U.S. military hardware and spies, loses touch with his people and is finally ejected in a popular uprising.
That was the tale of Mohammed Reza Shah Pahlavi, the pro-American ruler of Iran whose ouster ushered in the reign of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and three decades of Islamic rule.
Now many in this Arab country of more than 5 million people fear that a similar fate could befall King Abdullah II, the Jordanian monarch who assumed power after his charismatic father died in 1999.
thanks for the articl Adamari but I think that The writer Exaggerates little, maybye KA and QR are not fan of the jordanian's customs and traditions:lol:
I am not from jordanian but some jordanians friends told me that alot of things are not like abdullah and rania try to show to the world,so I think that articl make some intersting points.

I read the article today before seeing that u have posted it in the threads, I find it a very serious and scary article...even Al-jazeera mentioned it in its news!

what did al-jazeera say about the article, lil monkey?

the article really doesn't say anything new - a lot of people here at the forums even have said basically the same thing...but to see something like the la times saying it makes it sound more dramatic and factual...

That's Queen Rania's mom again with her, on her right, in this picture:
http://www.petra.gov.jo/nepras/2006/Oct/04/16079I.htm

I like the picture of the King and his brothers praying together.

on a side note, Petra really needs to hire someone who can write proper English captions! this the official Jordanian news agency we're talking about.
They even wrote Jordan River Foundation backwards.

lol Humera, I've always thought that women was Maha el khatib, I didn't know it was her mum...Rania looks nothing like her mum

Thank you Humera for posting the picture. The mum of Queen Rania looks very young and the Queen looks like her mum.

I don t know but I have a strong felling that the young woman in _orange/ salmon/ roos_ clothes is the sister of Queen Rania.

:flowers: You know what! I thought the exact same thing. I notice the profile of her face and I wonder the same thing. Hmmm?

thats very interesting, her mum lost so much weight, and I agree that women looks like her sister, so it's a family gathering to watch Latifa el tounisia (who was the guest of honor) singin, lol, J/K!

I recall I've seen picture of her dad when Rania was still a princess, and I see that he looks aged a lot since then, and I agree, her mom lost a lot weight, maybe Rania gave her secret diet ;)

Thanks for the pictures! very rare to see the royal family in a more personal and intimate setting. I guess they only brought along Prince Hussein with them.

She looks very elegant and pretty sitting at the table at the Women's Forum in Deauville.

I also like to see Rania and Abdullah in an informal setting when they were eating together, like a normal family.

I wonder where they are exactly? Did they just turn up at some local restaurant or was it a more orchestrated thing? Where would there bodyguards be I wonder?

Rania looks as elegant as ever, her hair certainly is long. Abdullah looks more scuffy!
