I just came home after visiting the exhibition in Moscow. It was the last day today.
Also I watched the documentary of Mr. Mitterand. Well, the exhibition was essentially organized right after this documentary. Many of the fragments were shown on several big screens. However, some were also not shown at the exhibition.
My biggest interest were the Grace's dresses and suits. Really, the screen makes people look fatter from what they are in real
The dresses seem to be made for a very slim woman. Or do they shrink with age?
I like the black dress from Balenciaga the most, the one that Grace were wearing on her 40th birthday. Many suits were , unfortunately, cached behind thick glass, but also many were placed right in halls, so that we could see every inch of them. An exhibition of Hermes Kelly bags was interesting. Especially I was impressed by a huge light brown Kelly bag, the bag where two adult people could easily be placed
I was curious to look at Grace's shoes. They seem to be all looking alike. As for her wedding shoes, I remember Grace going out of the church on the leather high heels, as it is seen on her movies, but the exhibition showed some kind of different fabric pumps as her wedding outfit
As absilute delight at the exhibition were the handwritten letters. One from Greta Garbo with most sweet words for Grace. From Richard Burton who was writing right in the lavatory
From Marc Shagall who praised the salmon that he had eaten at Grimaldi's, and has illustrated his thankyou letter with a salmonlike fish
Etc, etc
Of note, MOscow exhibition visitors, mostly women of all ages and complexions, seem to be well informed on Grace, as far as I could understand fron their comments.
