Seems the photographers have received their location assignments. Some are posting their positions on social media.

So like Zaira said before. Much ado about nothing.

Well, BBC did deem it as of national importance. But I guess that's not important enough.

Is the BBC airing a 5-part, one-week-long special on the wedding ? Besides, Harry is a British prince, so it is understandable that his wedding would be covered by the BBC. What I am questioning is that an American public network should give that much air time to a futile matter like the wedding of a foreign prince who is not even in direct line to the throne. Pretending that this is a major civil rights occasion (because of Meghan's "race") is nonsense since it is not perceived that way in the UK.

I guess, however, that the PBS audience still consists largely of senior citizens and, especially, senior women, who might appreciate that kind of programming.

There is another side to this marriage. Which is an American marrying into a royal family. And yes, it does make a difference in US interest than if Harry just married Jane from England. And her racial background does make a difference here.

Obviously PBS disagress! In the end, PBS wants people to tune in to their channel too. In addition, PBS always show British royalty related programs and d documentaries.

PBS or otherwise Public British Station. It is geared towards Anglophiles, its ground zero and how I got started from watching Masterpiece Theater, reruns of Dr. Who, Hyacinth Bucket, Miss Marple EastEnders. Anyone who knows about PBS knows that they love everything and anything British so why is it surprising when an American marries into the royal family that they would cover it??!!

This thread isn’t about PBS. Let’s get back on-topic please.

It’s May 1st guys! It’s the month of the royal wedding and I’m excited for this couple.

We've made it to May and wedding fever is definitely on the uprise. Shows being announced all over, coins being minted. Photographers gearing up to get their spots and daily stories that capture our attention whether they're fluff, full of information or even fabrications from a parallel universe somewhere. I think its all good.

Its good because as people get to know what is happening, get to know the bride and groom a bit better and maybe on the side realize Harry is sixth in line to the throne and that Meghan is an American, it seems more and more that the world is gearing up to celebrate and participate in a very happy occasion. Its good for the soul. For a while we're going to be able to look forward to something happy and perhaps even get a bit of the warm fuzzies instead of turning to our TVs or news feed and see that yet another bunch of pedestrians have been killed intentionally by a lunatic behind the wheel or how the threat of nuclear weapons has risen or a whole lot of political crapola that politicians are wasting their time on than working the real issues.

May is going to be a month to enjoy and I think all of us here are going to enjoy it to the max. I know I am. :D

Do we know which photographers got the best positions? And what about the US media? What positions did they get?

Based on some of the posts it seems it was a lottery? I don't know but seems most are just outside in the crowds. I have seen three talk on it so far and that is the impression I got.

In other wedding suggestion and musing news, I am wondering if there will be a carpet or runner going down the stairs of St. Georges?

I don't remember seeing one at Sophie and Edward's wedding.

How many people will actually be inside the chapel? NYT is saying 1200 inside, 2000 outside. ITV Chris Shipp said 800 inside the chapel and 2000 outside...another source says 600 inside and 2000 outside. AND another, the Sun, said 1000 inside.

Anyone know?

I believe about 600 guests were invited inside the church. I think the max capacity for St. George's is about 800? And even then, I heard it gets pretty crowded. Given that they are having a quite large number of people that will be there just because of the music, I'd say that ensure people are pushing against each other. And honestly, given what they've wanted to do, I can see why no politician at all. It's unusual for even the sitting PM not to be invited, but that also means other necessary invites. The list grows pretty quickly. It's unfortunate that this also means they can't invite some others that they might've liked to invite, but it's a small price.

The Chapel only seats 800. We know that a little over 2000 people have been invited from worthwhile causes and charities that Harry has connected with, who will be outside, and that 600 guests that are relatives/friends will be inside. So I'd say the last figure is accurate.

As well, inside there will be performers and musicians, TV personnel, choir etc.

They invited 600 guest but that doesn't include staff, performers, choir, tech crew, etc.

600 guests invited. No ‘must haves’ so no politicians and for all intents and purposes, no foreign royals.

That’s the same carriage Harry rode in on the way to BP after his brother’s wedding.

Well, let's hope it's at least reasonably comfortable to ride in. So many of the RF's coaches and carriages aren't. Comfort's one of the main things to go for, I think.

I like this pick! Was hoping it would be one of them. Well done.

What did you think they were going to tour around Windsor in Jacqui?

I'm happy with this carriage. It'll all look so lovely.

*Hopes for no rain*
