Does anyone have info about the tiaras of liechtenstein and monaco?
I could get used to wearing that thing, I'll tell you that. I love the differing styles of cuts for the diamonds used in the pendants....princess cut, teardrop cut, emerald cut. Very inventive.Chiyo said:Here's a link to the Portland tiara: http://news.webshots.com/photo/2018971490056005517JPDHKl

And here's a full-size picture of the Portland tiara! This is my new desktop background.
Rather than repeating or duplicating what we already have, why not take a look at the existing threads in this Forum? They are not hard to find.BurberryBrit said:Does anyone have info about the tiaras of liechtenstein and monaco?
No need for a new thread Thomas, the existing one will do: Indian Royal JewelsThomas Parkman said:You really should see some of the pictures of those Indian maharajas decked out in all their jewel dripping finery... A new thread on the subject, anyone???
I agree with you seeing the spencer tiara up-close is breathtaking. Maybe Wills and Harry should buy that tiara from their uncle.Shadiyah2086 said:WOW!! I knew the Spencer Tiara was beautiful, but seeing it that close in such detail it GORGEOUS!!!

iowabelle said:No, I haven't heard about the tortoiseshell & amethyst tiara. It's an interesting question, how many tiaras does Earl Spencer have squirrelled away?

Not an aigrette, nor Indian or Iranian, but Imperial nonetheless.

I mean.. do you need to have a royal title??.. because, for example, I've never seen Zara Philips or Charlotte Casiraghi wearing any tiara or important piece of jewlery...while madelaine of sweden is often seen wearing lots of different tiaras.. necklaces. brooches..etc..
Anyone with the money to buy one; is a member of a family that owns one; or has the contacts to borrow one.Heiress Victoria said:a question.. who is allowed to use a tiara?

Elspeth, if you look at them just right, they look like our smiley face icons! (Never noticed that before ).Elspeth said:That row of pearls in the body of the tiara always reminds me of a parade of Mickey Mouse heads. Apart from that, it's a lovely tiara.
I only have a vague memory of it. It was very delicate and looked to be made out of gold. So I would guess it's No. 4.sassie said:I'm curious if the tortoiseshell/amethyst is the one that belonged to Marie Antoinette. If it isn't, then there is a fourth tiara in the Spencer vaults.
All HM Queen Elizabeth II's tiaras and crown are my favourite.Who / wich country has your favorite collections of Tiaras, or wich is your favorite tiara?
I do like 'Russian style' tiaras. The diamond fringe tiara from Liechtenstein (second from top) is wonderful as is the 'Howe' tiara from England (top).
Anyone can wear a tiara. If you can afford it, you can wear it. There's nothing that says they are strictly for royalty and no one else. I know women who've worn them with their wedding veils, I know a couple girls who wore them to prom. Granted they weren't tiaras on the same level as something Crown Princess Mary would wear, but they were still tiaras.
