Oh no,but that happens a lot at the Danish and Dutch Courts,so not so unusual really.
The tour you mean is the walk from the reception room to the dining room at the Chapultapec Castle.:)

I could be wrong but as in Denmark all royals sit on the long table and guests on round table if royals sit on round tables that is for official visits or dinners held by the Queen and not state visits.

Do you know what they were looking at in the room? some paintings maybe?
 
When President Obama came I think they used round tables too, and I have seen them in some other dinners offered by the President

In this picture Imageshack - 11255823. they are in one of the rooms that were used by the Emperor Maximilian and his wife Carlota, and that has been restored to show the visitors of the museum how they lived.You can see their portaits on the back.

Its so good to see the Dutch Royals on their state visit to mexico! They all look very well indeed. I especially enjoyed viewing the gala pictures, thanks for posting!
 
such a great start for the state visit. mexico is very lucky lately to get so many royal visits! can any mexican posters tell us if the visit was covered by the local media?

Not much!!!. There was more coverage for past visits. Is kinda understable because the congress is aproving new taxes and there had been terrible floodings in Mexico City's metropolitan area and some provinces

About the visit, apparently the press in mexico did not stay on a distance. When the queen visited the city hall even the minister of foreign affairs had to keep them from running over HM. The organisation has not been perfect, at one point HM was driven to another event, to find out that she was one hour early.... as a queen can not wait in a café with some coffee, the solutionw as that the royal escorte drove through the neighbourhood for one hour.

Very poor planning and organization I must say and for that to happen to a Queen is not too good.
Who organizes the events adn keep schedule?
I must admitt that that is quite funny :lol:

I don't like to read about bad organized events... They had so much time to prepare everything... I know that unexpected things can happen but driving a Queen to a wrong event, etc, looks horrible.

The royals look great, especially Máxima. I dislike her last evening dress but apart from that she was always correct and elegant during the State visit.

Can you please put some sources on that?. The visit has barely been footaged on the local news as I said before, and as you can see in the newspapers websites and tv channels... and what does the song say?. Is it mockery?

Royal blog has a slightly different story btw:

According to the programme the queen was than to be taken straight to the National Palace. But halfway the Paseo de la Reforma, Mexico’s Maximilian inspired grand boulevard, the motorcade was told to turn around. No reason was given, but the royal party was than send on a goose chase around the national monument.

Perhaps it had been decided that Mexico’s President Felipe Calderón would welcome his guest at his residence Los Pinos instead, or the welcoming party at the National Palace on the Zócala in the Centro Historico was not in place yet. Queen Beatrix was left idling for some twenty minutes, before being taken to the palace at last for the colourful and impressive ceremony on the Patio de Honor, the inner courtyard.

I know this is a bit o/t but still:

Unfortunately most of us (Dutch) don't know that the song is actually a cover of a song from the operette Le Chanteur de Mexico by francisco lopez.
I like the 'original' version better

So it is not so strange to think that the dutch version is a mockery (which it really isn't) :)
 
If that happened, as a resident of MExico City, my best guess rather than poor planning is traffic(to give you an idea of how crazy it gets,there are 4 mill particular cars in the city). Sometimes a detour and waiting for a few minutes is better than end up spending hours in the traffic and get to your appointment 2 hrs later.

Hmmmm I'm sick. Queen Rania visited Italy and used no tiara, and now HM does the same.

Day 3 found the Royals in Las Yerbas,near the city of Guanajuato and the day is programmed in the frame of climate change,
draught for agriculture and the subsequent migration of the male population as they try to find work in the cities.

In the afternoon the Royals visited the town of Dolores Hidalgo,where Miguel Hidalgo initiated the revolution and thus the
separation from Spain in 1810.

In the afternoon HM and TRH visited the home of Mexican painter/artist Diego Rivera at Guanajuato ,followed by a walkabout
through the colonial city center.

Today,friday,HM and TRH will visit the pyramid and ruins of Teotihuacan,followed by a reception for the dutch community in the afternoon.
 
It is so different the hours there in The Netherlands, and here South America, now is Thursday. You are like 7 hours more than us (at least in Colombia)

This speech was approved,and made,by civil servants at the government Ministry of Economic Affairs at The Hague,
the guy in charge of translation didn't recognise it as a bit of a shady lady word.The dutch Minister of Economic Affairs,
Maria v/d Hoeven,is responsible for this,it was her Department that approved the speech.The Prince is not to blame in any which way. The word that had to be used here was"corriente" for tide,not chingada,which by the way,is a word widely used in all of south-america.But,of all places it is Mexico where it is seen as rude,none other explains it like that.
Really......

But a headline like that sells great,even though it is not his fault.
