I'm glad that The Queen and other members of the RF attended, this picture shows how much support Letizia is recieving from her in-laws. Such a warm and caring hug between Sofia and Letizia.

I mean, not for representation of country but friendship. I would have liked to see Prince Fredrick there as he is a good friend of Prince Felipe and it is his wife's sister who died. Same with Prince Haakon maybe. Not in any royal capacity but just friendship.

in this photo, the queen and paloma are walking with their right hands on their chest. why is that? is it a protocolar rule? i noticed that sofia normally walks like that, although it may be just to prevent her scarf from flying away...)

Duncan said:Well, tonight, in "Saturday Sweet Life" he went to great lenghts to make up for that.
He called Letizia "Sister Courage". (One more ridiculous statement I add to my collection.)
He was referring to the fact that, according to his sources from the royal house, Letizia left the palace in the morning the body was discovered and, without Felipe, went to the apartment where her dead sister and her parents were. She did so against the advice of the resident doctor and of the house personnel. Other journalists on the "Saturday Sweet Life" set confirmed this trip by Letizia, according to their own royal house sources.

I guess. But you go to funeral of people you are not close to but out of respect. Felipe is their friend and Letizia is his wife whether they know her or not.
But then that is what we would do and it may not be their custom.
Or maybe they where not invited or had no time to get there.
Kubrat and Constantin of Bulgaria were there, they are very close to the princes

royaltywatcher said:I was wondering about the applause too. It seemed inappropriate, like the people gathered there thought they were watching something manufactured for their entertainment.
