The Ruby Parure by Mellerio was made for QUEEN EMMA in 1889.

How many times has Maxima worn the Rosecut Bandau?

She wore it one time, during the state visit from Canada to the Netherlands in 2005.

Thankyou, i am surprised that she hasn't worn it more, i think it is the one that suits her the most.

I agree with you, the rose cut diamond bandeau is one of the loveliest pieces in the Dutch collection and it looked great on Maxima! :)

Maxima wearing Mabel's weddingTiara!
Looks beautiful on her! :)

i don't think it's the wedding tiara of mabel. the center motif looks too "full".

I think you can combine this Tiara in different ways...Don't know exactly, but maybe it's another version of the mabel-Tiara ;) .
I just cannot think of another Dutch Tiara that looks like this.
(Here you can see a good collection http://members.lycos.nl/oranjenassau/ )

Well, let's put a clear pic of Mabel's wedding tiara next to it to compare it. :) I'm actually pretty sure it's Mabel's wedding tiara.

(Pic from ANP)

As you can see there are 5 diamonds on one side, than there is the sixth one on the top, as is the same with the tiara Maxima is wearing. Next to that you should notice that Mabel is wearing the tiara on top of her hair (you can see the base) and Maxima isn't. She's wearing it in her hair. That's why it looks smaller. No, I'm pretty convinced. This is the same tiara as Mabel wore during her wedding... :)

I think you're right Maxie. According to me, this is the same tiara but may be it's the light or the way Maxima's wearing it that make the top a little different. But the side is the same, no doubt.

It's probably a modified form of Mabel's wedding tiara. The stones looks identical, but like berry said, the middle part of Maxima's tiara is filled-in. That's what I like about the Orange tiaras; some of them can be modified and are often do.

One thing I love about Maxima is that she has awesome jewels AND SHE WEARS THEM! That's what royalty should be about! She wears huge pieces so effortlessly and doesn't make it seem as if the jewels are wearing her. (like Camilla in the Dehli Durbar)

It's interesting, the Dutch RF seem to be able to take and use any Jewells they want, the Queen<princesses etc. all seem to wear the same tiaras, necklaces and brooches...

The DRF has a foundation in which all the historical pieces are guarded. The Queen is the head of the foundation, but all the other princesses can use the tiara's etc. as long as they don't outshine the queen of course. Queen Juliana founded the foundation so the pieces would stick together and to keep them in the family. A very wise decision, imo.

I am glad she pulled her hair back this time so we could see ALL the diamonds of the diamond bandeau. Beatuiful in it's simplicity and gorgeous stones IMO.

It seems that the longer she is CPrincess, the more expensive Jewells she gets to use from the foundation?

I really love the Diamond Bandeau Tiara on Maxima! :)
It looks so much better on her then on Queen Beatrix. she just knows how to wear it in her hair.

Wow thank you Her Majesty! This Tiara really suits to Maxima!

The sunray tiara looks MUCH better then when Mabel wore it, much less 'empty'.

On the second picture it seems that the center of the tiara has a bigger diamond...though it could be the angle.

Does someone know which pieces of those jewelry belong to Maxima's private collection? (except her wedding ring and enggagement ring of course :))
