Is it cold in Brussels today? Everyone in the photos looks very bundled up! Catherine the pictures are fantastic. I'm enjoying all of them. At risk of sounding 'greedy' are there also photos of them at the Mass for GDJC tonight?

oh gosh! i hope its not cold! i'm moving there in 3 weeks and I would love some nice spring weather. ah well, what can you expect from northern europe?

It was freezing cold today, very cold wind.

The photos of the mass will be later today I guess, it was only at 17.00, it always takes a while before we get to see the photos.

Aaaah -- they're back! Great photos -- thanks to all of you who have posted! I have a question -- Mathilde always wears the same bracelet on her right hand except for very formal occasions. Does anyone know what is on the bracelet, who gave it to her, who made it? On occasion it has looked like there might be red stones (?rubies or perhaps ?garnets for her birthday month) in it but at other times, I'm not certain. Anyone who has info, I'd enjoy hearing about it. Thanks again for all the photos.

Do you mean this one? She's been wearing it since her engagement, but she was a complete stranger before that time, so I don't know if she already had it or not. She wears this bracelet very often. It's got stones in different colors: green , blue, red ... Princess Máxima has something similar I've noticed.

Thank you to everyone who have posted pictures. They're simply wonderful. It's great to see Mathilde again, and she looks beautiful as always. Her outfit looks really great. It's great to see Philippe too of course.
Nice to hear what they did during the holidays with their trip to Italy. Wish they'd been in Portofino when I was there last year during the Summer. I hope someone is able to scan the pictures from the newspaper, because it would sure be appreciated.

Yes, that is the one. I am intrigued by it -- wondering if the stones are significant for birthday months or if they were just put there for the pretty combination. I have also noticed Maxima has one but wasn't sure if they were identical and, therefore, perhaps a popular bracelet in northern Europe, or what. Perhaps it will remain a mystery - but thanks for the photo and follow-up - that is indeed the bracelet.

Princes Mathilde & Philippe of Belgium attended a work meeting on the microcredit in Louvain (Belgium). Like princes Maxima and Willem-Alexander of Netherlands, the heirs to the Belgian throne make an effort to help the poorest communities of the world.

On 14th February Mathilde will leave on a UN AIDS mission to Tanzania. As special Unicef/UNAIDS representant, princess Mathilde will accompany the executive directors Ann Veneman and Peter Piot. The essence of the visit will be fieldwork and for Mathilde : orphans and children affected by AIDS.
