Talking of Mary & Fred I'm pretty disgusted at the "headlines" in two of our Australian magazines this week! The Womans Weekly has "How Mary was made to hide her baby bump" and the Womans Day is "Mary vows My child will not grow up unloved like Fred"! Honestly, I wonder just where these people get such lurid imaginations? Given the fact that the only other mag on sale "New Idea" is covered in pictures of Leyton Hewitt and the airhead he married I think I'll stick to Hello!

I know its really pathetic. They just create stories to sell, they only see dollar signs. There is no respect at all unfortunately. I also read another headline saying "Mary's palace torment" and "Mary's palace feud". Pathetic.

This headline might actually be a modified truth. Because Frederik has said that his children will have a different upbringing than he and his brother got. Meaning he himself will be more involved in the upbringing. He has said in interviews that he felt like a guest with his parents and that he was mostly taken care of by nannies and that he felt his upbringing was very strickt (mostly due to his father's way of upbringing which he brought with him from France). But wether he felt unloved or not I cannot say. Though, he has commented his upbringing on several occations.

I can't seem to find any transcripts of interviews where he comments on his childhood and upbringing. If someone knows of one/several please put the links in this thread.

Frederik said in a speech he made at his parents' 25th anniversary that his father had lived by the guideline of "those we love, we correct" and said that he and his brother had certainly felt loved.

I don't think that Frederik and Joachim were unloved. Unfortunate, perhaps, in that their mother, as Queen Elizabeth II also did, ascended to the throne while her children were very young, and therefore had to hand over a lot of responsibility to other care-providers.

Queen Margrethe has also said, on numerous occasions in biographies, that she is not very good with young children, and she has never been (from the time of her much younger sister Anne-Marie until today.) The Queen prefers children she can do things with and talk with.

A quick comment on Mary's U2 outfit: I hate the brown sack-like top she's wearing - blah color and unflattering shape. Like the jeans and strappy sandals though.

i actually like the outfit a lot. it's a nice casual outfit for a summer concert. i would say mary has lots of problems when it comes to combinating outfits and imho she isn't really a fashion guru but i definetely loved this one... i think casual outfits suit her a lot more than formal ones.

I agree with Carlota, I like the outfit too but then again, it's rare that I dislike something Mary wears. But everyone is entitled to their opinion...that's what makes the world go 'round!

Are Women's Day and Women's Weekly reputable magazines or are they tabloids? Just wondering, I'm not familiar with them being from the US. Do they often have untruthful or spun headlines?

They're more like middle-aged mother of 3/granny magazines...haha :p i don't know about if they're really considered reputable but i don't think really highly of them...they're more like gossip magazines in which practically half of the magazine is dedicated to non-fat diet recipes - but none the less if you give me a copy i would still read it and laugh at the ridiculous articles they write

That's horrible! You'd think the demographic that the magazines target would have better things to do with their time that to read junk!

They are reputable magazines; more known for home making features and women's stories than news, but not inaccurate.

am not liking the long top over the jeans look....i never liked it when it was a trend and i dont like it now

Article summary from B.T.

Yesterday the Crown Princely couple attended a concert by the Sønderjylland Symphony Orchestra in the Graasten Palace Church together with locals and the Royal Family.

The article also reports that they attended a traditional family get-together at the Palace on Monday, the day after they arrived from Copenhagen where they had been shortly to attend the U2 concert. The dog Ziggy, of course, came with them.

Apparently Fredrik & Mary are very fond of their dog, and he has been with them all summer - in Skagen, France and now at Graasten.

The long top over trousers is the perfect look for a pregnant woman though, very practical.

Sometimes if you wear a dress when pregnant it does not look quite right, does not sit right, you have a bit more forgiveness with trousers underneath.

  Maybe it's just me,I think he gained more weight esp. his shoulders.

Summary of a Se & Hør article...

Se & Hør reports that last Tuesday (last week), when the Crown Princely Couple were still holidaying in France, they went back home to Denmark for a short visit, in order for Mary to visit the maternity ward at Rigshospitalet (the National Hospital). Apparently Fredrik and Mary took a private flight from Tolouse in France to Copenhagen, and well at the hospital - Mary met with senior physician Morten Hedegaard to have her check-up, and it showed that her pregnancy is going according to plans (normal).

The story (in Danish) can be found here.

Picture also from Se & Hør.

Maybe you're right...his shoulders look much wider than his hips and torso to me, esp. in this picture. Maybe he either gained weight in the top or lost it from the bottom!

the white scarf at the end was unecesary...but everything else was good

I think she looks good now that she has gained a few pounds due to the pregancy. I she keeps the few puonds after the baby is borne.
