Not this summer but this autumn in connection with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa… However all that is depending on the king’s health so we won’t know anything until it gets closer

First it should be King Charles III who pays a state visit to Sweden.

With the same logic King Charles should pay a state visit to Japan as well - but it has already been confirmed that a japanese state visit to the United Kingdom is scheduled in June.

Maybe there will be a SV from/to Denmark someday soon. The last SV from the U.K to Denmark was in 1979 and vice versa was in 2000.

Im sure that Charles will definitely visit Canada in 2025. I would have said New Zealand too but it seems a bit far unless he's visiting another country nearby.

I think a trip to Canada is probably on the agenda for 2025. If Charles maintains QE2's policy of 2 outgoing state visits or "big" trips a year, there will be one other trip in 2025.

Also, might a state visit to our nearest neighbour, the Republic of Ireland, be squeezed in in 2025?

Unfortunate as it may seem, I can't see a trip to NZ happening for the next couple of years, as C&C have only just returned from the region.

President Higgins and his wife are both not in good health and his Presidency ends next year ,I would expect the next President to visit the UK in 2026.

I would expect one of the new Irish Presidents first visits would be to our island neighbour and then an incoming UK State Visit.

I was also thinking about a state visit to Ireland in 2025 but with a presidential election coming up, a 2026 visit may be more likely..

If Charles does 2 outgoing visits, i definitely expect one of them will be to Canada… Maybe tied together with an official visit to USA during the same trip…

I also expect there to be an outgoing state visit at some point during the year… If not to Ireland maybe to Netherlands

That would see visits to 2 of the UK’s biggest trade partners (USA and NL) plus a royal tour of Canada…

For incoming state visits i have no idea to be honest…. Possibly any of Belgium, UAE, Oman, Italy or Sweden

I’m also thinking Canada in 2025! But with the federal election set for October 2025, the visit would probably end up in autumn or winter—maybe not the best weather for the King? A summer visit in 2026 might be a nicer option

I understand an outgoing visit is being planned to Italy, so there won't be an incoming one from Italy the same year. Belgium is not considered a diplomatic heavyweight, so unlikely to get an incoming visit this year. Sweden is a possibility, though I don't know if Carl-Gustav would expect Charles, as the new King, to visit first.

It was just speculations. I have no idea to be honest… But Italy would be great..

Sweden is a possibility as the countries are quite close both politically and royally and the last Swedish state visit to UK was in 1975 and the last british state visit to Sweden was in 1983, so it shouldn’t be too far away now…

The ties to the Gulf-countries are strong since many many years so it wouldn’t surprise me at all if we will see more state visits from or to the Gulf-countries after the Oman-visit in December
