Baby Boy for Princess Marie and Prince Joachim: May 4, 2009

I'm glad to see everyone happy and healthy in the pics. Thank you everyone for taking the time to post them.
I will probably get slammed for saying this, but the baby looks a "tad" bit jaundice in his face compared to his little hands. It's probably nothing and will go away in a few days. I just hope he does not have to go back like his cousin did.
 
When watching the video, I noticed that Princess Marie is much more than the sweet girl everyone says she is. She seemed more sure of herself than Joachim, who seemed a tad nervous and wanted to get out of there. I was impressed that she spoke or understood Danish nicely, and seemed confident.

Not to worry, Sesa. I thought the same thing. It's pretty common with newborns to have a slight jaundice. :flowers:

I´m also surprised by how beautiful and radiant looks Marie today :flowers:
She is a very pretty woman, but today she is wonderful.
 
The little prince is adorable. Marie looks really good for someone who has just given birth a few days ago and does not look tired or exhusted like Joachim. I quite like the baby's blanket, looks quite warming. Thank you for the pictures & videos.

Marie looks absoltuely amazing, relaxed, down-to-earth.
The Baby is soooo cute and tiny and Joachim just looked happy ;)

What a precious baby! The little prince is absolutely adorable. It looks like he has a head full of dark hair. Marie looks amazing and Joachim couldn't look more content. I'm very happy for them! :flowers:

I haven't seen any photos of the baby with his eyes open. When Mary and Frederik visited him, he kept his eyes closed the whole time. I'm sure we will know very soon.

The new prince is so cute. Congratulations to the parents. Princess Marie looks great and happy - it is so great to watch these pictures and films. Thank you everyone for posting them.
 
both Mary and Marie had great photos together comming out of the hospital, i think is so cute and sweet, i was trying to remeber Maxima but i think I don't rtemeber anyphotos of her comming out of the hospital!?
going back to topic, i am please to listen her speaking some danish! at least she is trying! i wonder if the other kids from Jjoahim speaks french too? I bet they are excited with a new brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:flowers::angel::heart::daneflag::king::baby::fireworks:
 
Wow Marie looks amazing, I can't beleive she just gave birth! Aw so wonderful to finally see the little prince, once again so happy for the family.
 
Marie looks absolutely radiant. Lovely picture of her. Joachim looks as though he's not had a good night's sleep in his own bed for a while.

Maybe that was the reason for his appearing to be in more of a rush to get home than she did.

Grand-pere Cavallier beaming in a very charming way.

No question the baby has Cavallier coloring. Cute little fellow.

This is the first time I've ever seen a baby wrapped in a gray blanket. It matches her outfit, but I find it a little sad and serious for a baby. A traditional white or soft baby color would have looked so much better, even a light tan.

Hope they give Marie a chance to get herself back to normal a bit before heading back to Schackenborg. Love the way Joachim showed his prowess at manning the baby seat in the back of the car.

I guess the grandfather must have been in the other half of the back seat.

After looking through more pictures, I see that the grandfather was in the front seat next to Joachim and Marie was sitting next to the baby in the back. Just a detail.

She had a very normal delivery, textbook delivery one might say. Seven hours in the hospital before the birth is very nice. Wonderful for her, just what everyone had hoped.

Yes, I remember seeing Grandpa Cavallier getting into the front seat of the car. Still think it's so wonderful that he is there with his daughter:flowers:. In the one video of Marie she talks about how close she is to her father and that when her parents were divorced she wanted to live with him. So nice to see the special bond between them.
 
I also noted the closeness of Marie with her father. It must mean a lot to both to be together now that she has become a mother.

I wonder where her mother has been today? I haven't noted any pictures of her - did she stay away from the hospiutal?

There has been a lot of commentary about Alain Cavallier, since he was there right away the afternoon after the birth (I think I'm remembering this right), back with his former wife the next day, and then again with Marie for the ride back to Amalienborg.

I wonder if he plans to go to Schackenborg with them (it seems they plan to go in a few days, not weeks). Or maybe her mother will stay longer and go to Jutland, while her father returns to Paris. Just a little strange not to see her mother as well as her father today.

I'm sure her great-grandmother will probably come for the christening, hopefully Marie's 4 brothers and families as well.

I suppose Marie's still one of the boys. :lol: Four brothers, close to her dad, Joachim, two stepsons, and now, a baby boy! :flowers::flowers:
 
Wonderful news and they all are so beautiful & happy together. And again there is another new prince in Danish royal family and it's so nice :) I hope they can rest at home. All good to Joachim&Marie&little prince...
 
How wonderful to see all three of them coming out of the hospital. My best wishes for the lovely couple and their brand new baby. Can´t wait to know the name.:flowers::flowers::flowers:

The prince is so cute, but I hate having to wait to know his name. Marie just look radiant and so happy. I thought maybe the blanket has some sentiment to Marie and her family.
