It seems like yesterday that he was just here in the Philippines. I just wish he could have stayed longer.

Her remark comes from an old story about a young boy who had only one glass of water to put out a fire. As the story goes on, others noticed the young boy in his ostensibly futile effort, and took their glasses of water to put out the fire. It's a plea for more involvement.
