I think Diana wanted his boys to marry "normal" girls.Hopefully that will work out for Harry.
I hope he finds a woman able to see past his royal title and love him for just who he is. He seems to such a kind, warm hearted man.
I suspect that is just what Chelsey did - loved him for who he is - but the title got in the way. It always will because unless the BRF really changes in a certain fundamental way, it is asking a lot of a young woman to give up a career to simply be a fashion plate and attend charity functions. Plus there's the tabloids and all the scrutiny - one might love the man but what comes with it must be a hard pill to swallow.
I still say that there could be a quiet under-the-radar relationship between the two of them that could go on for years - like with some of the Scandinavian royals. What the tabloids catch or do not catch at the entrances to night spots is not the defining element on what is really going on, after all.
Chelsy found the baggage that came with dealing a prince difficult to deal with and if they are getting back together it's going to be a lot worse as she now lives in London and will be exposed to the paps on a daily basis.
Ah, now that he is in the US, I have a charming and lovely niece.....
I'd like to quote what I posted on another occasion when Harry and Chelsy got back together: "Noooooooooooooooooo!"
I personally don't have an opinion either way because I know relatively nothing about this relationship, but why the long "no" Mermaid?
Just my personal opinion, Royal Newbie. Harry and Chelsea have had a really dramatic relationship. They've broken up and got back together a few times, and I don't think that's a sign of a healthy relationship. I can see one or possibly two break-ups before a successful marriage, but Harry and Chelsea have been going together and breaking up for years. She goes back to South Africa, she comes back. She plans to do lawyer training, then she takes time off again to travel. It's rumoured that she doesn't want to be a princess, then she's back with Harry. I think that Harry needs a steadier person, but this is only my opinion.
I'm in complete agreement. Harry needs a person who is steady, and done with the 'I need to find myself' period. There's no room for any flightiness in the life of a senior member of the British Royal Family. I think flightiness and recklessness was well covered by Sarah, the Duchess of York. I'd venture that there's no place for that in the House of Windsor.
The secondary issue (besides the fact that they both might not be ready for marriage) is that Chelsy is not keen on becoming a member of the Royal Family. I can't see Harry giving it up so she will either have to deal with it (and frankly the BRF doesn't need anyone who is just dealing with it from the get go) and marry him or walk away.
I think that if Harry and Chelsy do marry, say in five-to-ten years, there'll be more need of another princess doing full-time royal work then there is now. This is especially true if Beatrice and Eugenie don't take on roles within The Firm. Does Chelsy really want to be part of the royal road show with all that means in terms of public appearances, necessary diplomacy, and lack of privacy? If anything happened to William, God forbid, Chelsy could be Queen! I think that dating a Prince could be very exciting, and I have no doubt that Chelsy and Harry have a strong attachment. But unless they plan to live together and never get married--which wouldn't be the best option IMO--Chelsy has to deal with being a working member of the BRF as well as being Harry's wife. At Harry's senior position, which will be VERY senior when The Queen passes on, Chelsy won't be able to pick and choose between royal perks and royal obligations. She won't even be able to go home to South Africa without permission and she will be a servant of the state.
If they don't ever get married, won't that look bad since royals are supposed to be "traditional"?
