Trooping the Colour 2: 2023 -

A line has to be drawn somewhere and, with all due respect to them, I don't think we particularly need all the descendants of the Kents and Gloucesters on the balcony. Sophie Winkleman is well known because she's an actress and because she's Claudia Winkleman's half-sister, but most people are not familiar with Lady Davina Windsor, the Earl of Ulster, etc. But it would be nice to see the King's nieces and nephews and their families. Zara and Mike are pretty high profile, and there were pictures all over last weekend's papers of Eugenie at the Westminsters' wedding. And people love seeing all the kids together - the cute picture of Charlotte handing Mia a posy of flowers last Christmas was all over everywhere. There's a lot of interest in them all, and I think people would appreciate their being included. We all know that Andrew is persona non grata, so nobody's going to make a big deal about him not being there whilst the others are.

It also makes things simpler.
Working royals and children of working royals only on the balcony makes sense for the BRF, I think.
It also makes it clear who is there and why. So no speculations needed and no one needs to feel snubbed. If you are not a working member of the BRF, you are not there, period.
It's a KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid.

Happy to see Princess Katherine after so many months. She looked stunning as always, happy to see Lady Louise and I agree, it would be more interesting to more of the family on the balcony. Watching the children's reactions to the flyover has always been a treat.

I loved the Princess of Wales sitting in a closed carriage with her 3 Children , then her carriage stopped and she looked the Trooping sitting inside. Again the carriage to B. Palace and standing on the Balcony. Light excellent program .
I liked the Prince of Wales after his Father's carriage on horseback with the Princess Royal on his right and his Uncle Edward on his left.
I liked the old Duke of Kent belng there too.
Too much posts about the balcony and Princess Louise.

I hope we get to see Louise and James for many years at Trooping the Colour. The balcony is so empty! I still prefer the whole family up there, Good to see Catherine!
