My impression was that target no longer applies since she (then we) discovered she had cancer. I think Easter was suggested in the early stages when she first had her op. I could be wrong of course.

The Easter return was before the Princess revealed she was undergoing Cancer Treatment .
It maybe sometime before we see a return to some sort of public duties.

That date was given before her cancer diagnosis. Since then, they have asked for space and time. It is unlikely that they will know how soon she can return to duty until she is done with treatment and has clear scans, so at least a few months.

For context, her diagnosis was only revealed three weeks ago, which is almost no time at all to deal with any of it.
 
Exactly, the Easter timeline was based on the time needed to recover from surgery. Unfortunately, afterwards they found out she needs additional (preventive) treatment, so her absence from public duties will be prolonged. This time they were careful not to put a timeline on it.

The Easter timeline was from before her diagnosis and so is no longer relevant. She will be back to public life when she is medically cleared and feeling up to it.
 
There are rumours that Kate would attend the Trooping the Colour while she is undergoing chemotherapy.

Let's hope she stays safe and away from other people or uses a mask. And no handshakes. Her system could be fragile during chemo, and anyone around with a cold could make her even more sick and risk her recovery.
 
It's going to be difficult for her to re-enter public life, especially if she's lost her hair and is feeling self-conscious about it, which may well be the case. She needs to do whatever feels right for her, but a big spectacle like Trooping The Colour may not be the right occasion.

If she came out with no hair, like it happened to Princess Caroline some years back, it will even help people battling cancer to know if she is not concern on what she would look like to others while on chemo neither should they.
When you are fighting for your life just to be around for more years and see your kids grow, become adults and independent, looks take a back seat in her worries.

Caroline was not going to chemo but had a condition at that moment aggravated by other factors that caused hair loss and the pictures were all over the media. In her case the press she received was terrible because it focused on her looks. Did she care about them? absolutely not.

With Kate it would be a different response since we live in different times, with the press having a bit more respect on her condition than the one shown to Caroline years back.
 
I have enough rumors about Catherine’ come back. Of course I want to see her too but she is ready when she is ready. I have feeling that those debates put pressure on her family to release the update about her health. There was enough such pressure already and forced them to sacrifice Catherine’s rights to privacy. She deserves to be left alone if it’s what she wants.

I must confess, I am a little bit disturbed by the silence. The Waleses were not quite open in the beginning and it turned out to be very dangerous - cancer. Who knows what is now going on ...?

My second point: I am a Royalist. A world without Royals would be poorer to me. But not everyone is like that! There are a lot of folks, which have no opinion at all about Monarchy or are against it even.

And it might sound very harsh, but the show is going on without the Princess and who knows, perhaps even without the Royals alltogether... If one's standing in the society depends on public opinion, one has to try to make it favorable ot it - I don't know if utter silence is the right way...
 
Victor 1319, I like monarchy too, but the invasion of their privacy was too much. Especially the circumstances in which we learned about Catherine cancer and the hoopla about the edited photos were so shocking to me.
 
What still worries me most is that they don' t announce the kind of cancer she has. Why?
I' m sure if it was breast cancer f.i. they would. So many women all over the world who are sick with it would feel solidarity with her and other way round.
 
Catherine initially had abdominal surgery. She has already shared she is being treated for cancer. People need to chill out. We can all wish her well without knowing any further medical details. We will see Catherine when her physicians release her and she feels strong enough to return to royal duty.

Well, I don' t read too much into it; what else should he say? Now and then he has to give an "update" to not worry people even more. I only hope all this won' t end suddenly one day with a bad surprise....

The Princess is under no obligation to announce the type of cancer she has, that is a private matter.

KP have been clear that she will return to public duties when she is ready. That will be, when she is ready. No point speculating when that might be. These things take time, the recovery is not linear, and the treatment itself is not a set formulae. I am sure we wish her well and would like to see her back soon, but lets just give her the time and space to recover in peace and face us when she is ready.
 
Chemotherapy is horrible. Trying to cope with it when you have three young children is even more difficult than it would be otherwise. Trying to cope with the shock of a cancer diagnosis is extremely difficult in itself. People deal with things differently. For example, Amy Dowden - one of the professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing in the UK - chose to share pictures of herself in her hospital bed whilst undergoing cancer treatment. Other people write ongoing blogs about their treatment. But other people choose to stay out of the limelight - that's the decision that Catherine has made, and we need to respect that.

That's entirely the personal business of the Princess and following the March 22nd Video broadcast she asked for privacy ,which we should all respect out of solidarity.
