The last time a Swedish monarch sat on the Silver throne was King Carl XVI Gustav during the Ceremonial Opening of Parliament in January 1975.

I once read that the queen did refuse to use the Coronation chair and that the Pope sent her a new one.The queen also refused to use Edward's coronation oil as she believed it was polluted and had some brought from Catholic France.
The chair at Winchester Cathedral is from her wedding in 1554.
