Hello - one of my fav royals is Caroline of Brunswick. I have read a lot online about hee childhood but don’t know how much is true. I’ve read things like she was hardly let out of her room and she faked being in labor as a teen. Does anyone know more about her childhood

Whenever Princess Caroline was nice to one of her parents, the other parent would become angry at her.
Towards her mother Princess Augusta, Caroline's speech tended to be vulgar and lacking in respect.

Princess Caroline's governesses watched her every move.
Her parents did (very rarely) let her attend public functions like balls.
She was not allowed to dance at these events.

Her childhood was indeed unhappy due to her parents marriage and her mother also had a difficult relationship her sister-in-law Queen Charlotte.

Then she had the misfortune to marry the future George IV, and lose her only child. It's very sad.

A very tragic life and also Caroline was poorly educated too!
I guess that happened quite a lot back then. One educated female royal child from past times that always springs to my mind is Vicky (Queen Victoria's eldest daughter) although I'm sure there are many more.

Poor Caroline was only taught music and even her father remarked that the Princess was lacking in education!
