Yesterday, November 6, Crown Prince Willem-Alexander has visited the initiative ''As I left my fathers house'' of the foundation New Dutch Connections at the Maartenschurch in Doorn. The foundation brings together immigrants and locals by theatre plays and art.

Pity it's only a one day visit...but I'm sure they will return for private visits...who can resist Istanbul?....

Today they are accompanied by the new Dutch Foreign Minister,Frans Timmermans.There will be a reception after tonights concert,attended also by the Turkish Foreign Minister Babacan.

It is great to see the more then cordial relations between Turkye and us.In a time and age of so-called crisis..Turkey is as strong as on ox and is one of the big growing economies...A huge achievement,and it is one of the top holiday destinations of the Dutch,after Germany and France..

Playboy heir? And a casanova even... somehow Willem-Alexander isn't the first one I think of... he isn't exactly a looker and he only had 2 known girlfriends before Máxima.

HRH The Prince of Orange,Patron,will open the exhibition on Tsar Peter the Great at the Hermitage,Amsterdam on april 8th.

The Exhibition takes place in the frame of 3 jubilees:

The Netherlands - Russia Year 2013
The 400th anniversary of the Amsterdam Canals
The 525th anniversary of the Royal Dutch Navy

The Navy Peter held as an example to build up his own Navy starting with building ships while here in Amsterdam himself.

Today, March 20, Crown Prince Willem-Alexander has made a working visit to the Science Park Amsterdam to get informed about the importance of Amsterdam as a hub for internet and 'Big Data' (very large databases).

I know when WA is formally installed as monarch he will be wearing white tie, and that he has already given up all his military ranks, but when he is King of The Netherlands will he also be C in C of the armed forces and entitled to wear the uniform of General or Admiral on occassion?

Also,the Prince attended the last meeting of the Council of State as a Prince yesterday afternoon.He will be President of the Council of State as of april 30th.The Heir to the Dutch Throne becomes a Member of the Council at the age of 18.W-A attended many of the meetings since his 18th.
