We have been forced to close, clean-up and re-open the threads in the Sussex forums various times per week. This situation is far from ideal both for us as for the majority of our membership who want to participate in a normal way.
To help us keep the various threads navigable we will be using a new tool. Members who have been contributing to the escalation of conflict in a thread can receive a Time-Out.
This means we will suspend their account for a short time, namely 24, 48 or 72 hours.
We can use the Time-Out for members who ignore mod. warnings, who engage in never-ending repetitive arguments or who attack other members. Several Time-Outs will lead to a longer suspension.
We hope that by giving posters a Time-Out we will have to close threads less frequently, which will enable the vast majority of our posters to continue discussing a topic.
