What I like about Mary?
well, I like most of her clothes
As far as her role being a crown princess, well for Denmark it seems to work. Prince Frederick never seemed to have many royal duties to begin with on his own. Now, that Fred is married it seems he was at first doing more royal duties, then we saw him not attending certain important functions (King of Sweden's birthday).
A problem I have more about there royal duties then them as a person, is that I wish they'd do more important ones, although I don't think that was the right word to express what I'm saying. For instance I do believe they opened a roller coaster ride? thats all fun and w/e but, I feel a crown prince and princess should be doing more important royal duties then opening a roller coaster ride! as I wrote before it works for Denmark, and it works now. Though if these royal duties continue to stay the same, as years go by, then I'd question if these same things would be so excepted when Fred becomes king.
As far as Mary's motives, who knows what they are. It is possible to not know who certain royals are, I'm from the US and I didn't know who prince William or Harry were until early this year. Denmark doesn't really have much publicity in the states, though in Australia it could be different. No doubt Mary knew that there were going to be important people at the club that night.
I think some people question Mary's motives because of the image she has. Being a fashion princess, and such. I mean when you look at pictures of her before the wedding (like during there dating days) she seemed a bit more real. Now when she goes to functions she looks so done up, like this is role she is playing in a movie. And I must admit she is very good at it.
Another is her and Fred's relationship. True it does seem like a fairytale, and I think from the whole Diana and Charles thing, we as people know a bit more to never judge a book by it's cover, everything can look fine and dandy, but what really goes on behind closed doors? Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit have had a bit of trouble from the press about there relationship, they've commented that it hasn't been easy. It shows that they know it's been a tough rode getting there but, it was worth it. For me it's a lot easier to believe a couple is happy, after they've had some troubles. I'm sure Mary and Fred have had some problems along the way as well but, there not as publicised.
Oh well thats just my two cents. Nothing completely wrong with this couple, but I'd like to see some good changes come along.
