Everything. The ceremony, the crowds, the hymns- I love hymns and classical music. And the awesome sight of Westminster Abbey.

I always love watching the proud and sentimental look on the face of the father of the bride as he walks his daughter down the aisle. Personally, it was one of only two times I ever saw tears in my own father's eyes.
 
I loved the whole ceremony,it was so royal :)
My fav moments would have to be :
1. When Catherine was about to enter into the Abbey and she was looking at the crowd with her father and Pippa encouraging her.
2.When she approached to the altar and Will looked at her with love in his eyes and said she looked beautiful.
3.The kiss on the balcony
4.The walk down the aisle.I can't imagine what is it to enter the magesticf abbey and to see that almost 2.000 people inside are waiting for you,included the Queen herself! Kate may have felt overwhelmed,but she kept smiling.Her beauty is so radiant and her smile so sunny that she made me smile everu single time I looked at her.

I can't choose one singl emoment.The whole wedding was a fairytale and Kate made the perfect royal bride.Independant,proud,beautiful,elegant and with a big,happy smile.
I hope that this astonishing ceremony was just the beginning of their happy marriage. :flowers::flowers:
 
Biggest surprise?

Did anything surprise you about the Royal Wedding?

For me the biggest surprise was the flawless performance from James Middleton as he gave the reading. He knew the words very well as he very rarely had to look down, and yet he never sounded as though he was merely reciting. He delivered it with meaning and sincerity, and showed no trace of nerves. Magnificent job.
 
I think my surprise was the dress. I absolutely loved her choice, but I had expected her to go with a slender dress (think Princess Alexandra). Obviously, a soft, flowing design would not have had the grandeur, but a straight skirt with a grand train could have worked. So when she got out of the car with a ballgown, I was amazed. (Please don't read "disappointed"--I was not at all disappointed. The gown is beautiful!)

James Middleton did do a beautiful job didn't he. I really didn't have any surprises regarding the Middletons nor the Royal family. Other than perhaps Princess Beatrice's and Princess Eugenie's choices of attire. But, the young ladies tend to be daring in their clothing and hat choices.

I think Catherine was perfection and Pippa and the Middletons were wonderful. Notice when singing "God Save The Queen" Michael Middleton was very vocal and Carole Middleton very proper in not opening her mouth too far in singing.

Of course, my only complaint would be the little coverage of the foreign royals. Would have liked to have seen Lalla Salma more as well as the other European royals. I did not even see HSH Prince Albert nor Jordanian royals. What Queen Rania there? I had heard Queen Noor might be there.

The page boys and the young brides maids were all so adorable. So nice to see Lady Louise out and little Miss Grace was tooooo cute.

  3. Harry sneaking a peak at Catherine as she walked up the aisle. I didn't think it was an English tradition that the groom couldn't look at the bride until she was by his side. I thought that was only a Greek Orthodox thing. Then again they are part greek (From Prince Phillip's side).
  4. The vows (even though I didn't get to see all of it the first time)
  5. Kate's Curtsey to the Queen (even though I didn't get to see it the first time)
  6. The organized chaos of the crowds moving toward Buckingham Palace for the balcony kiss
  7. The balcony kisses - More than one!!!!
  8. The happy couple driving off in the Aston Marton convertable

This is indeed a very difficult question to answer, but I'll give it a shot nonetheless.

I loved watching Lady Louise. She was so happy, and constantly smiling. Her enthusiastic waves on the balcony were priceless.

Grace's facial expressions and ear covering. Precious, really.

The looks between William and Catherine. I teared up.

The two kisses on the balcony. No need for an explanation there.

And of course many others.
 
The amount of people that went to the Mall. What a beautiful site it was!
Catherine's "Wow" reflected my impression as well :).
 
To me, the biggest surprise was the amount of coverage we were able to see after the actual ceremony and balcony appearance. I didn't expect to see anything from inside the palace or anything like that.

When Catherine said "I Will". The way she sounded was so sweet. You cold see she got little emotional but was able to held it back. go back and check it out, definitely one of the moments I got teary.

Also, one I realize watching a online video. When they make their way from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace , passing trough that arch on Horse Guards Parade they were holding hands not aware that there were cameras there, probably. Before and after they both were waving and she was holding the bouquet with the other hand. But the fact that for that little amount of time when they could stop waving they held hands, was just so heart warming.
 
The 2 kisses on the balcony appearance. That surprized me and I loved it.
 
I loved the whole wedding from start to finish. My self I thought it was prefect.
 
Firstly the dress. Love, love LOVE it!!
- Kate's amazing composure throughout the whole thing. No matter how well she's handled the build up, that was an AWFUL lot of pressure to withstand and she was just amazing from start to finish.
- The Middleton family were wonderful also and especially James' reading as has been mentioned.
- The crowds. Wonderful to see the Mall like that once more.
- The Aston Martin drive to Clarence House. Brillliant touch and major points scored for Wills with the younger generation here in the UK. That was just too cool.
 
The whole thing was a keeper, but if I had to pick a few things it would be William's reaction to the dress, Kate arriving at Westminster Abbey and her reaction of 'oh Wow' to the crowds when she went onto the balcony at Buckingham Palace. But really, there were just so many stand out moments throughout the day for me. Best bit of Royal theatre I have seen in years!! :)

I had both my TVs on - looking at both the BBC [with sound] and ITV [with the Volume turned down]. The pictures were more or less the same during the service, which makes me think that the reason that the TV did not concentrate on showing the foreign royals is because the commentators do not know who they are and so would be faced with a dilemma if the tv feed they were watching presented them with close-ups of people they do not know. Bearing in mind the global reach of these pictures, even if space at commentary boxes is at a premium, my own very humble view is that perhaps it would be a good idea to have an expert on foreign royalty present with the commentators. Just my humble thought.

Without a doubt the best part of the day was Jerusalem and the National Anthem. Besides the obvious vows and the Mall and Balcony scenes, it was magical. In Victoria park, both the hymn and anthem were sung at the top of the 20000+ crowd's voice and confirmed that there are still patriots and royalists left in this magnificent country and showed the world the Republican minority that the Monarchy are here to stay. Absolutely magnificent.

It's not just the foreign royalty either, we didn't see much of the wider Royal family, possibly for much the same reasons. I think this was the other major surprise for me, although in hindsight it shouldn't have been.

It seems the BBC has never made any attempt to replace the likes of Tom Fleming, those commentators who really did know what they were talking about and did their homework. Some occasions need a specialist, and nobody has bothered to produce one.
 
For me, when Catherine walked up the aisle, the music was amazing and as she reached William at the top of the steps, I felt so emotional that I cried. I'll never forget that moment.
 
Biggest surprise for me

1. Lack of emotion and feeling.
2. The boring factor. I wasn't expecting to be so bored. I left the room to get coffee and when I came back I didn't feel like I missed anything!
3. The terrible coverage and commentators.
4. The drive to Clarence house in the Aston Martin. That really brought them down to eveyones level.

For me the biggest surprises were the 2 kisses, the departure from BP in the Aston Martin, the coverage we got afterwards, lack of coverage of the royals at the wedding.

The whole wedding was beautiful. The bride s dress, her arrival at Westminster Abbey, the sweetness in P. William s face ( i could swear i d read in P. William s lips the words “ i m nervous “ whispered to Kate when she got to the aisle... Kate s pride and tenderness when she said “ i will “. The kisses... everything. It was such a simple, tender event, so distant from P. Charles and P. Diana wedding. William and Kate proved, once again, that less is more
 
Missing Diana

Did anyone else feel a twinge of sadness for William during the wedding. It just seemed that there was a sad overtone to the service because of Princess Diana being gone, not being able to see her beloved son William marry his own Princess. How that young man loves his mother.
 
It's always sad when someone who has lost a parent goes through the important stages of their life without them, but I was happy that he was happy and marrying someone he loved, and I was not sad at all. Weddings are joyous, happy times.
 
I didn't pick up on any sad overtones during the service at all. Of course he misses his mother, but life goes on and William seemed extremely happy. Which is what Diana would want, after all.
