It's a striking picture as the Queen is just blending in with the other new mothers holding her baby. I can’t think of any picture quite like it as the Queen was always front and centre and a little bit 'apart', even in family pictures.

We can't see their faces but that embrace as they look their grown children go on their own, driven by their brother, must be a feeling of parental pride.

I’m not sure Caroline is as demonstrative in public- I certainly can’t recall seeing her interacting closely with her family ( other than at the funerals of her husband and parents) .
