Quite the royal turnout!
 
Charlotte and George arrived with their father. And interestingly Zara arrived with the Middletons while Mike already inside the Abbey
 
Many members of the Royal Family were present. And I also enjoyed watching the Middletons.
 
It's good to see Catherine having so much family support at this concert.
 
How wonderful to see so many of the Royal Family turn out today for the service! I think Catherine looks absolutely stunning!
 
Catherine is the epitome of dignity, which is not something a lot of people have.
This event and turnout must be wonderful for her.
 
Good to see such a turn out to support the Princess. Watching Catherine interacting with those performing in the concert, it’s great to see how easily she performs her royal duties these days. She just seems to go from strength to strength.
 
I'm so very happy to see the Prince and Princess Michael of Kent looking so happy and healthy!
 
The enormous turnout is indeed lovely to see. It is also interesting to see the order of precedence used - with Zara and Mike placed after the duke and duchess of Gloucester and duke of Kent but ahead of prince and princess Michael of Kent. The Gloucesters and Duke of Kent were place after Beatrice and Eugenie (so it was not about working/non-working status).
 
It was nice to see so many family members present, including the Middletons. And it’s always fun seeing the children participate - maybe Louis will be able to handle a carol service by next year?!

The order of precedence in the British court is fluid and inconsistent. I have given up trying to understand it.

In principle, as the King's niece and nephew, Zara and Peter should have higher precedence than the Dukes of Gloucester and Kent or their wives.

It would be nice if Louis is joining next year (assuming this will become a yearly event). I noticed that when arriving George was walking next to Catherine and Charlotte was holding hands with William. Most of the time it is the other way around. I wondered whether that was on purpose: George being linked to Catherine as she was the organizer/host of this event. When leaving they went back to the 'common' set up with George walking next to William and Charlotte next to Catherine.
 
It was nice to see Princess Eugenie and Jack attend.
 
Does Westminster Abbey always change their entrance this time of the year? It looks rather different with all those Christmas trees and especially the fake wall in front of the real entrance. It almost looks like a side-entrance when you see them enter.

It looks like Catherine was the only one in the Wales family curtsying/bowing to their majesties.

Anyone know why the Earl of Wessex or the children were not present?

No, I expect him to bow. He doesn't do that either (and nor does George). And in the past we've seen Charlotte curtsy as well.
 
I suspect that William took George and Charlotte to BP while Catherine went straight to the Abbey. If I am right then William etc will have already met the King and Queen and so done their bows and curtsey privately rather than at the Abbey.

I just don't think William and Catherine would have taken two cars from Windsor into London and so the others would have had to wait somewhere so that she could go to the Abbey.

That could indeed be the case - although another greeting is a bit weird in that case.
 
It looked like George bowed his head after greeting Charles (3:00). Charlotte might have curtsyed, She was blocked by William. William did not bow his head but I think he may still be adjusting to Charles becoming king.

It looked like a wonderful event and quoting the Queen was lovely.
 
Court Circular 15 December 2022 states:
"The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall this morning chaired a Meeting of The Prince’s Council at 10 Buckingham Gate, London SW1."

So possibly William already met the king in the morning.
 
Thank you Yukari. My guess was that the PoW had already seen the King at some point today hence the lack of bow.

Yes- I really liked quoting TQ too. It was nice to see the family together for a happy occasion.

I've read that St. Andrew's University's term had not ended and this is still exam week for the fall semester so would explain Louise's absence. It's possible that her younger brother James might have had a school activity or even school work to complete on a Thursday night as the term won't end until tomorrow. Not sure about Edward, though it's possible that he might have had an evening engagement.

The CC didn't list anything for Edward at all ... but that doesn't mean he didn't have anything.

Anne had engagements all day.
