Wonderful pictures, thank you. The one with TRH's with arms round each other is lovely.

These sort of commemorations are so bitter sweet. Incredible thanks & pride in what these men did tinged with sadness that there are fewer of them every year & that one day there will be none. Makes me quite teary really. Not to mention humble.

This is why, despite the occasional doubts, that I support the monarchy . They are exactly the right people for these sort of events. Politicians just don't cut it for me at all.

What beautiful pictures of the Prince and the Princess, commemorating this memorable occasion.

We often wonder about the relationship of the British Royal Family with their European counterparts - it think these pictures and videos tell us a lot!
 
Court Circular 21st September:
Clarence House

The Prince of Wales today undertook engagements in the Netherlands to commemorate the Seventy Fifth Anniversary of Operation Market Garden and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands (His Excellency the Hon Peter Wilson).

His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The Parachute Regiment, this morning joined Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands at a Service of Remembrance, Ginkel Heath, Arnhem.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon visited St Eusebius Church, Arnhem, to mark the completion of restoration work.

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Commemorative Service in Driel.

The Prince of Wales later attended a Reception at the Airborne Museum, Oosterbeek.
 
Prince Charles has written a lovely article in honor of Cardinal Newman: "Cardinal John Henry Newman: A Man for His Time and Our Times," published in today's issue of the Times.

A longer version will be published in the Vatican City newspaper, L’Osservatore Romano.

What a beautiful testimonial and so eloquently written. I think that Charles' gift with the written word is one of the things I admire about him the most.

The Prince of Wales said he was "deeply touched and moved" when he heard his eldest son say he had been thinking about how to maintain the picturesque estate when he was no longer around.

He spoke out during a two-part ITV documentary giving a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the Duchy, which covers more than 130,000 acres across 23 counties, to mark his 50th working year as the Duke of Cornwall.

Prince Charles said: "It practically reduced me to tears because I suddenly thought just hearing that from him has made the last 50 years worthwhile."

The Prince of Wales this afternoon departed from Aberdeen Airport for Italy and was received upon arrival at Ciampino Airport, Rome, by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Holy See (Her Excellency Mrs Sally Axworthy).
Mr Scott Furssedonn-Wood is in attendance.

The Prince of Wales this morning was received by His Holiness Pope Francis at the Basilica of St Peter, Vatican City.

His Royal Highness subsequently attended the Canonisation of Cardinal Newman at St Peter’s Square, Vatican City.

The Prince of Wales later viewed an exhibition on Cardinal Newman’s four visits to Rome, Venerable English College, Vatican City.

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Reception, Pontificio Collegio Urbano, Vatican City.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon arrived in the United Kingdom from Italy.
Mr Scott Furssedonn-Wood and Mrs Jilly Hurley were in attendance.

Yes, I'm being facetious. Both Charles and Kerry are avid advocates for climate change and its affects on the earth.

Mr Scott Furssedonn-Wood, Mr Julian Payne and Dr Suzanne Farrar are in attendance.

Court Circular 22nd October:

The Prince of Wales this morning arrived at Tokyo Haneda Airport and, having been received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Japan (His Excellency Mr Paul Madden), undertook engagements in Tokyo.

The Prince of Wales, representing The Queen, this afternoon attended the Ceremony of Enthronement of Emperor Naruhito of Japan at the Imperial Palace.

His Royal Highness later visited the Nezu Museum Garden.

The Prince of Wales this evening attended the Enthronement Court Banquet at the Imperial Palace.
 
Looks like he is enjoying himself in this short visit to Japan

His Royal Highness this morning visited the Wales team’s Rugby World Cup training ground at the Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium.

The Prince of Wales afterwards visited HMS Enterprise in Tokyo Harbour.

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Zojoji Temple.

The Prince of Wales later attended a Reception at the Mitsukoshi Department Store.

His Royal Highness afterwards received Mr Taro Aso (Deputy Prime Minister of Japan) at the Residence of Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Japan.

The Prince of Wales subsequently attended a Reception given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Japan (His Excellency Mr Paul Madden) at the Residence.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Dinner for The Emperor of Japan given by Mr Shinzo Abe (Prime Minister of Japan) at the New Otani Hotel.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, received the Governor-General of Antigua and Barbuda (His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams).
