The British royal family is well known to be prepared for the future. Just as the Duke of Cambridge is now sitting in and meeting and getting to know how the Duchy of Cornwall works, it seems Charles is doing the same with the Duchy of Lancaster.

Its all good.

:previous: He really is delightful to watch. :flowers: IMO of course.

Charles is right, you cannot afford to lose crafts such as those. After the earthquake here in Christchurch, very few of our "old" buildings remained but we needed skilled craftsmen, stonemasons, etc to effect repairs and we had to look overseas for them. Imagine floods, etc. damaging places that are heritage buildings and having no one that knows how to do the job properly.

You never know what is around the corner, fire, flood and earthquake.

You bring up an important point, MARG. :flowers: Very few people know how to build a stone wall, among many other things.

I am reminded of a quote from the science fiction writer Robert Heinlein regarding our lack of a comprehensive, fully reaching knowledge of experience in the world: “A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.” :flowers:

Court Circular 23rd March:
The Prince of Wales this afternoon attended an Upland Wader Summit at the Two Bridges Hotel, Yelverton.
