Big uncertainties about the seating arrangements of the Nobel Prize
The Nobel Banquet will be soon. But who's going to sit and where? Everything is unclear.
Whoever has invited a big party knows what job it may be to do the seating arrangements.
Imagine arranging a party for 1 300 people. And to until the very last one doesn't know who will sit at the table of honor.
The Nobel Foundation has this problem right now. On December 9, they will present the Table of Honor at the Nobel Banquet, a party that will take place on December 10th. Yet they don't know who is leading our country. Who is the prime minister, which ministers are part of the government, and which should be placed absolutely finest, close to the royals?
On Monday, Speaker Andreas Norlén will propose Stefan Löfven as prime minister. On December 5, the Riksdag votes if Stefan Löfven becomes prime minister or not.
- I can't comment on the seating arrangements at the moment, but we are waiting, says Ebba Bourghardt, Press Officer at the Nobel Foundation.
So far, the government chaos has created a big controversy for the royal family. The king has to stay standby in the middle of the intense autumn schedule. Without him, there will be no new government.
As soon as the government's formation has been completed, the king must be ready to lead the Council of State at short notice.
Already now, the royal couple, the crown princess couple and the prince couple are in hard training. They need to read a lot to be able to discuss everything from chemistry to economics with the person they are placed next to. But right now they don't know if they will need to discuss physics in English, or maybe talk about politics in Swedish with a new prime minister.
