Madeleine looks amazing. She can wear a tiara better than anybody!

Gowns & Tiaras:

Silvia: gown has that '70s feel but works with her go-to Luechtenburg.

Victoria: gown is gorgeous and the Steel Cut works it. I'm going back and forth with the Cameo parure.

Madeleine: Love her in the Connaught but the hair looks messy for this tiara. Her gown looks like two different gowns put together. Love the color though.

Sofia: gown looks like a Christmas muumuu and her wedding tiara would have been too much. The gown swallows her whole. The smaller steel cut is one of the ugliest tiaras in the Bernadotte collection. NOBODY looks good in that tiara.

My top and bottom votes are clear. The middle two are hard.

Victoria is the runaway winner. She is the picture of Victorian elegance. The color and detail of the dress are sensational. The tiara though not my favorite is a perfect fit with the gown. The pearls and cameo just finish the Victorian feel. She blew the other ladies out of the water:flowers:

Madeleine narrowly ekes out second. I am not a fan of either her or sofia's gown overall. But I love the color, and I really like the skirt. But it doesn't match the top, and the top looks like a blouse. But her tiara and hair give her an edge up.

Sofia looks like she stepped out if a Barbie doll box and not in a good way. The green is fantastic on her. But the dress is stiff. Love wearing new tiara but horrible hairdo for it, and that tiara doesn't suit event, needs bling. Wedding tiara has the bling, and would have fit the dress so much better.

Silvia is easily worst. She looks like a grandma in a silver mumu. The dress is shapeless and too much. Her beautiful sapphires are completely lost.

The print reminds me somewhat of the gray print outfit Maxima wore a couple of weeks ago (and no one liked it!). I'd love to get a better look at this green print dress.

The lady is Sara Danius, the Permanent Secretary of the Swedish Academy. Cia Jansson, the editor in chief of Elle Sweden told just that the dress is designed by Per Engsheden.

As there is a dutch laureate it is a pity that no member of the dutch RF attended this year like a few years ago the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg. As there was a finish laureate was there a high ranking official from Finland. Didn't see the president there so i guess he didn not attend.

Princess Madeline can look pretty in a sack!!!
Even though I don't like her hair today or the upper part of her dress, she's still ravishing

From the banquet seating plan it appears the dutch government is represented by the minister of education, culture and science: Jet Bussemaker.

Thank you so much, Lady Finn! That dress is kinda fabulous, and I'm happy to see a complete view.

Well, the contrast of Pcss Madeleine´s dress between top and below is what it is about with this dress and I just cannot think of it if the top had the same design and texture like the skirt. I think it is just the way it should be.
I agree with you, though, on all the other outfits.

Sad that Princess Cristina did not attend because of her illness.

Expressen writes that although it was told that the royal family would not meet the Laureates at an audience at Prince's gallery this year but come to Golden Hall and mingle (and perhaps dance) with all the guests, the only one who came out from Prince's gallery shortly was Daniel. As soon as he came there, people came to him and wanted to take selfies, and Daniel posed for them. Chris was seen talking with Speaker Urban Ahlin at the private gallery, and Madeleine talked for a long time with Margareta Thorgren, the director of the press department. Thorgren said to Expressen that it has been a lovely Nobel evening and she didn't know why the royal family didn't come to the Golden Hall.

Victoria: Laurel Wreath tiara
Sofia: Four button tiara
Queen Silvia: Nine prong tiara
Madeleine: Modern Fringe tiara, she seems to have the Connaught as a necklace?

Maybe I will be criticized for this, but I'm almost glad he missed the Nobel ceremony as Patty Smith sang his song with such an emotional voice that overshadowed her technique!

I was right about at least one tiara for each woman. Guessed four buttons for Sofia if we saw a new one. Surprised but happy to see her get to wear two new ones.

Maybe the court decided that Sofia should not wear her emerald tiara this weekend because all the media fuss Svensk Damtidning created by writing that the tiara is originally a necklace from Thailand.

I doubt a newspaper article changed plans. The tiaras were likely chosen long before the event, when planning outfits. It's her personal tiara, she won't stop wearing it due to one article.

In closer pics it looks really like the Connaught tiara as necklace which it find a bit too much given that none of the other ladies from the RF are wearing big necklaces. And it doesn't go well with that gown and it's pattern.

We don't know that. The emerald tiara would have looked good with Sofia's dress yesterday, and she had emerald earrings. If she had worn the tiara this weekend, the history of the tiara claimed by Svensk Damtidning would have been told at every article. Maybe the court hopes that if Sofia wears the tiara after some months, the media isn't so interested about it's history anymore.

The royal family met all the Laureates with their families before the dinner ad posed for group photos.

I agree, the emerald tiara would have been a natural choice with the green dress & earrings.

Woow. All the Ladies looking so beautiful this night.. I love Sofia with the 4 button Tiara. I dont like Victorias Dress ( i never liked it) Its great she wore the Laurel Wreath Tiara but i Think the Baden Fringe would be better. Madeleine always looks great with the modern fringe and i Love the Connaught as necklace it works so well with the dress.. Silvia looks great as always

Night 2. No runaway winners or losers. Definitely not as exciting as last.

Victoria again is top for me but not runaway. I love the gown, looks beautiful on her, color suits her. As much as I love the laurel, I think the Baden would have been better. Hair was lovely.

Silvia in second. Elegant and polished in red.

Madeleine. I love the gown and detail though I find the sleeve detail very similar to last night. I don't like she Wore the Connaught, got lost in the dress

Sofia. The pink is a lovely color. Her hair looks good and nice second new tiara. Dress more flattering but a bit boring.

Overall looks between two nights

1 Victoria night one
2 Silvia night two
3 Victoria night two
4 Madeleine night two
5 Sofia night two
6 Madeleine night one
7 Sofia night one
8 Silvia night one

Yes, it is very surprising and odd that Madeleine is wearing so big jewellery on this evening when the royal ladies normally wear less jewellery than at the Prize Ceremony events.
