I agree with you, Romy, but well, it seems the festival has become Steph's part and is no longer visited by the whole family, just like last year..

Here are some pics, dated 22.01.2007, I can't translate the caption as it's Italian, but it seems like a soccer team Steph met and it has something to do with the circus festival.. Hopefully some one can tell us..

I wonder who that lady next to Albert is. She is the only one sitting down. That is very unusual. Nice pic though.

It is not the same show everyday. Tonight is the gala of the winners. And yes Steph is there at every performance. The last few years she wasn't at the mass. Don't know about yesterday, since I couldn't make it, but Albert is usually there.

sashajones, good question. I think that in Europe most circuses don't have animals any more, but I think I saw some animals in pictures from Circus Festival.

Nice pics of Steph and Albert. Stephanie's outfit is excentric but I like it, she looks gorgeous.
Albert indeed is bundled up, he must be freezing.

Lakshmi, many circuses in Europe still have animals, I've seen many of them not only in Germany. There are often reports that those circuses get problems in winter times, but I've never heard anything about any PETA protest.

It's so great our circus princesses are on cover again ..It has been a while from their last circus cover in 2002. Camille's expression was so precious then and especially now

Michelle, in case I remember it right, it's been the same last year!? There were only around six days on which Steph and her guests have been there..

Michelle, in case I remember it right, it's been the same last year!? There were only around six days on which Steph and her guests have been there..

I can ask someone who was there twice last weekend, whether anyone attended from the family, but I think mainly it is finished for them after the gala. Once the winners have been decided, in the last shows you mainly see them and their programs.

Press Release n° 1​

The ticket office for the 32nd International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo has just opened its doors, so tickets are now available for the 2008 edition of this event. Opening times are as follows:

From Monday to Friday: From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

As in previous years, the performances on 17th January (8 p.m.) and Saturday 19th January (8 p.m.) will be identical, as will those on Friday 18th (8 p.m. and Sunday 20th January (3 p.m.).

The Gala, after which the award ceremony will take place, will be held on Tuesday 22nd January at 8 p.m. Performances by the winners of the show will then be given on Wednesday 23rd (2.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m.), Thursday 24th (8 p.m.), Friday 25th (2.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m.) and Sunday 27th January (3 p.m.).

Prices range between 30 and 100 € for all shows and 35 and 160 € for the Gala.

Students around the world joined PETA in urging Prince Rainier to end the use of animals in the Monte Carlo International Circus Festival

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica]For years, animals have been trucked hundreds of miles over mountain passes to take part in the festival. They are forced to balance on balls, leap through burning hoops, twirl on their back legs, skate and ride bicycles. [/FONT]
[FONT=Arial,Helvetica]A PETA videotape shot secretly at the 1995 festival shows a trainer jabbing and hitting an elephant with a bullhook to make her sit upright on a stool; a frightened, whimpering muzzled bear being forced to perform a complicated gymnastics routine; and a trainer pulling a panther by the tail and hitting the animal with a stick. Our investigator saw elephants swaying neurotically in the small, dirty truck used to transport them and depressed bears biting bars and rocking in their small cages. At least one of the circuses has been charged with smuggling endangered species, including chimpanzees, gorillas, tigers and Asian elephants.[/FONT]
