I really enjoyed seasons 1 and 2 with Claire Foy, but was disappointed with seasons 3 and 4. Seasons 5 and especially 6 then were far better than I had expected.
I loved the first two seasons, Claire was incredible. Initially, I was disappointed in season 3, but as time went on, and the third episode about Aberfan came on, I came around and by the end of season 4, I was sad to see Olivia and Toby leaving. That last show, with the background music, was beautiful. The fifth season was the disappointment to me, but I came around season six, and I think Imelda came into her own with her portrayal of the Queen. The last episode had me in tears. I wish they could have softened up Claire's part a little, I think she came off a little hard, but overall, sad but magical.I really enjoyed seasons 1 and 2 with Claire Foy, but was disappointed with seasons 3 and 4. I thought Claire played it really well, I sensed her bewilderment of what was happening to her, her innocence in this male dominated world , her mothers influence , then gradually she finds herself, she will make the decisions. The loss of her early married years as a young family. Her isolation and I thought at times loneliness of the role.I loved the first two seasons, Claire was incredible.
