I am surprised by her choice of earrings on this night as she has the very substantial diamond drop earrings with emerald pendant, which were a wedding gift, and the emerald pendant part can be worn separately if she wanted a toned down look. Which she has worn before.

The Golden Girls did the RVP in 1988 at the request of the Queen Mother, so the scuttlebutt goes! "that fine lady in the expensive seats"

Although most of this is line-for-line from an episode, it's pretty great to think of the QM not only enjoying this one but as just another global GG's fan.
