Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine are very concerned regarding the lack of drinking water in the city of Uzice. Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine secured donation of 3,000 Litres of bottled water from Coca Cola Hellenic Serbia AD for General Hospital in Uzice that has been distributed today. This donation will cover the needs of patients for one week.

Young Princes Peter and Philip Karageorgevitch spent Christmas holidays with their family, Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine at the Royal Palace in Belgrade. While Hereditary Prince Peter, heir to the Serbian Crown, came from London with his girlfriend, younger Prince Philip came alone this time. When we conveyed a wish of citizens of Serbia to young Princes that they should come to live to Serbia and to get married, Philip Karageorgevitch said sincerely that the first wish was realistic.

HRH Princess Margarita of Baden Memorial Service

A memorial service for HRH Princess Margarita of Baden formerly married to HRH Prince Tomislav (brother of HM King Peter II) took place yesterday in the Serbian Orthodox Church of Saint Sava in London.

Present were Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander, Crown Princess Katherine, Princess Katarina (daughter), Victoria de Silva (granddaughter), Prince Ludwig (brother) and Princess Mandi (sister in law) of Baden, His Excellency Serbian Ambassador Dr Ognjen Pribicevic and Mrs Pribicevic.

The memorial service was officiated by the Reverend Fathers Goran Spaic, Milun Kostic, Djordje Cekerovac and Dragan Lazic in the Serbian Orthodox Church of Saint Sava in London.

HRH Princess Margarita of Baden’s funeral took place 24 January 2013 and was attended by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh (uncle of HRH Princess Margarita), HM Queen Anna Marie of the Hellenes, HRH Princess Sarvath of Jordan and her two daughters, Prince Max and Princess Valerie of Baden, Prince Ludwig and Princess Mandi of Baden, Prince Bernhard of Baden and Princess Stephanie, Prince Leopold of Baden, Prince Michael of Baden, Prince Berthold of Baden, Princess Marie Louse of Baden, His Excellency Dr Popovic, Ambassador of Serbia...

And on August 13, Prince Alexander and Princess Barbara's interview took place. Below is a much shorter version of the interview, which you can read in more detail here.


Prince Alexander was born at the White Lodge in Surrey, England on 13 August 1924. He is the first child of Prince Paul and his wife, Princess Olga of Greece and Denmark.

Prince Alexander has lived and worked in Paris for most of his life, which resulted him in becoming close friends with the Count and Countess of Paris as well as the Count of Evreux, whom he said is always very caring and loving towards him and Princess Barbara. However currently, the couple are living in Marbella, Spain.

He said he remembers his childhood well, and has clear memories of the time when he started school in England, when he was around eight years old. He said that it's like he started yesterday. When he was thirteen, he went to Eton College.

His parents lived in Beli Dvor, a complex in the White Palace in Belgrade, Serbia, although they also loved their time in England. They decorated their residence in Serbia with artwork that Prince Paul had purchased. However, when Prince Alexander was seventeen, he and his family had to go into exile as the monarchy had been abolished. They firstly stayed in Lake Navashisha in Kenya, before moving on to South Africa, where they befriended the Greek Royal Family.

Noblesse & Royautes were granted access to Princess Barbara's photo album. Princess Barbara is the wife of Prince Alexander, who recently turned ninety. From what I understand (Google Translator isn't the best at all times), Princess Barbara was born a Princess of Liechtenstein, but she now lives in Paris. He is his 2nd cousin once removed, however his father Paul was regent for CP Alexander's father Peter II since he was underage when he took power after his father Alexander I was assassinated.
