but i wonder why sophie always wears hats with these plates at one side? i think they are looking quite strange..

I think those plate-on-side-or-front-of-head arrangements are strange too, but I think Sophie's looks good. She's successfully managed to combine the plate look with exploding bird look in the one hat, and she's wearing the perfect dress for it.

I think she looks wonderful. She has good features and a very beautiful face and I think she looks good whatever she wears, whether it's plates or pink cabbages on the side of her head.

I also think that the family seems to be getting along much better. Maybe now that Charles is happy in his own life, the family is mood is much happier.

Princess Sarvath is there too? I had no idea. I'd have liked to see her in a hat though. Im still waiting to see if Princess Haya will show up. She usually looks very elegant at ascot.

The Queens outfits have been wonderful this week but both sophie and camilia looked awful. camilia's hat was far too wide and too many feathers also the gold colour was too young for her at nearly 60. sophie was badly dressed as ever especially her hats which looked stupid and oversized (particularly the pink one)

Should Camilla only wear dark colours because of her "age"? IMO gold suits her very well, the cut was perfect. And she is a fan of big hats, that´s her special mark.

Diana is dead. That's Lady Carolyn Warren, sister of the current Earl of Carnavon, and wife of the Queen's racing manager, John Warren. She and Diana were good friends, and, IIRC, Diana was godmother to her eldest child.

Lady Carolyn Warren

Lady Carolyn Warren, 43, has had a lifetime involvement in the bloodstock industry, working closely with her late father, Lord Carnarvon, and her husband, bloodstock agent, John Warren.

Following the death of Lord Carnarvon, she and her husband took over the ownership and management of Highclere Stud, which currently stands the stallions Efisio and Dr Fong and has a broodmare band of 18 mares, as well as consigning yearlings, mares and foals for other breeders.

Her initial employment in racing was with Pacemaker Publications, editing the Directory of The Turf prior to moving on to video production, producing and editing stallion advertising for many of the leading stud farms.

A registered owner since 1999, her previous horses include Lingfield Oaks Trial winner Birdie and Tora Bora, as well as the listed placed Tincture, currently in training with Christophe Clement in the USA.

I did not find much more Sarah pics from 1988, corazon, one with Margaret, one of her hat and another one of bad quality as it's been in the middle of the magazine..
