A different view of the outfit.
At least she is not wearing coulottes - it only looked like that in the group pic - but a regular skirt.
Still a very unfortunate combination (though everything becomes relative when looking at the Estonian First Lady's wardrobe choices ;)):

The combination of all these pieces may not be 100% correct but I loved the outfit so much!! I was getting very bored of the royal fashion lately, until this photo of Silvia came. I even like the hat on her, though these fur hats are not my cup of tea either.

Imo quite beautiful, although personally I'm not a fan of this half-transparent upper part (not finding the right word for it). Still it looks fine on her.

This gown looks too old-fashioned and too bridal for me.:ermm: Not the best choice in today's world though Q Silvia looks ravishing as always!!

Queen Silvia and Evelin Ilves had three engagements in three different locations in the afternoon and it's freezing in Stockholm, so it I guess it was obviously (though unfortunately) more practical to leave the hats on.

It's winter in Sweden and that is great!! ... but an unfortunate side effect of winter ( dry and v.cold weather) is that it cause a lot of static electricity ... The hair becomes very flat/ flying uncontrollably around ... (especially when you remove hat or cap...) and it is very difficult with skirts ... I personally had major problems with my skirt in church on Sunday, for although I had a good petticoat, the skirt insisted on to smear around the legs and "climb "..... Just as it looks to be with Silvia's skirt at the photos from yesterday ...:whistling: (and maybe the fur hat made the static electricity even worse :D)

I don´t like this outfit at all, it´s quite awful. And the hair piece doesn´t fit to the colours of her outfit.

It's a delicate dress, I love the details on the top part and it's a wonderful shimmering fabric, IMO. The style of the skirt is not so much my cup of tea, though.

I definitely don't like this outfit, for me it's a bit silly. The only thing I'm in favour of is the jewellery.

I also don't like this outfit. It looks old, somehow washed out. The hair piece doesn't match, neither do the shoes. Or was the hair piece suppose to match the shoes? I don't see it...

I wud marry Silvia right here right now if she wanted to..she just dazzles me to bits..the fur hat is my fave {i have two of those in orange and raspberry :heart2: }..the ecru evening gown is dreamy, i'd take her out to dinner she wud wear this gown n' after that we wud dance on the beach with the stars shining above us ..i just luv luv everything on her, the red fascinator is ultra chic, i need a cool drink immediately..:bang:

the fur hat is grande elegance, voila!!!Trés trés jolie! :winkiss:;) but the evening dress does not persuade me totally. No no. there is something about the sweet stuff I'm not so sure.........I must think about it. take a Martini, dear Sebastian darling.:)

the heels are enchanting, no?the suit..... aww, a bit too beamless for Silvia. yes, that should be my statement at this point.

I like it! I like everything about both ladies' outfits, except the First Lady's hat.

The new outfit from Day 2 of the Estonian state visit is indeed a clear miss, and I find the design idea to repeat the fabric of the top as inserts in the skirt’s kick pleats rather silly.

Last night, Queen Silvia wore a cocktail-length version of an old favorite two-piece silver dress.
An all-silver look, while the Estonian First Lady chose an outfit in gold which I'd call... let’s say: extraordinary.

Two awful outfits in as many days!? What happened to the always nicely dress Queen Silvia?

The silver grey suit was nice though definitely not Silvia's best outfit. I found the jacket quite special.

The sparkled jacket is lovely and adds just the right amount of royal glamour.
My only complaint is the stockings. It's too much shinyness next to the already shiny grey skirt (if that makes sense). Regular nude stockings would have looked nicer.

How could I miss this one!!?? I agree with you LadyFinn, this outfit does nothing for Q Silvia. The colours are a mess, the headpiece just silly... I only like the brooch.

Extraordinary is correct!
She looks amazing!

On which planet...?;)
Seriously, IMHO dressing with chutzpah in an original way is one thing, but an outfit which is wrong for the occasion as well as the own body type, as seen on Estonia's First Lady here, is quite another.

Looks like I misunderstood you.
Well I was talking about Silvia...I thought she looked really nice. As for the first lady...I agree she could've dressed more for the occasion:wink:

Just looked at the First Lady's ensemble! Putting it nicely, what was the woman thinking?

IMHO a truly fabulous style for Queen Silvia tonight in Malmö, attending the Bicentennial Ball of the Swedish Ameranther Order:
An all black-and purple look, worn with the complete Napoleonic amethyst parure.
The sleeveless gown, embroidered with lace in black and lighter purple, was first worn in Brazil last year, now a bolero jacket similar to the one worn at the Nobel Prize was added.

The purple is sensational on Queen Silvia. So much the Queen in this pic. Thanks Boris

Very nice, I like Queen Silvia in deep colors like this purple. The gown is looking great with amethyst set.

Back to real glamour!! I love this gown worn with the amethyst parure, truly exceptional!!

One dress – three different looks.
Full-length view of Queen Silvia’s deep purple dress worn sleeveless during the state visit to Brazil:

The short cape which was worn with it during dinner in Brazil:

And a full-length view from last night – with a new, sharply tailored bolero jacket and without the side train, which was apparently removed from the skirt. A much sleeker look:

This First Lady must be the dream of a lot of men.
