Queen Silvia attended on Monday 21st November The Stockholm University Biannual Lecture on Child Law and Children's Rights in honour of Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden.

Stockholm University arranges a series of lectures by prominent researchers in the field of children's law. The first was held in the Aula Magna at Stockholm University on 21 November.
Marta Santos Pais, prominent expert on children's rights and the UN Secretary-General's former special representative for violence against children, gave a lecture there on the theme "Human rights starts with children's rights".

Queen Silvia attended today' the German Women's Club's Advent celebration at the German Embassy in Stockholm.

"It was a great honor to welcome her majesty Queen Silvia and organize the German women's club's annual Advent celebration at the residence today. "Deutscher Damenclub" was founded as early as 1911 and Queen Silvia is, as former German royalty, its patron.
Around 70 of the members of the club came to sing German Christmas songs, accompanied by the trumpet and piano, eat German Christmas cookies such as "Christstollen" and listen to fine speech by Ambassador Christina Beinhoff, the women's club President Petra Wikström and the queen. The ladies in the club even brought a gift with them to the Queen in the form of a check for her organization Childhood. Christina Beinhoff could not have had a more atmospheric ending to her first eight months as Germany's ambassador in Sweden. On December 1st, she hands over the assignment as ambassador to her husband, Dr. Joachim Bertele."

Queen Silvia attended this evening the Jewish congregation's memorial service for the Victims of the Holocaust at the Great Synagogue in Stockholm.
The King should have attended too but he has a slight cold and because of that, out of consideration for the participants at the memorial service, he chose not to attend.
Queen Silvia arrived with the First Lady of the Court Anna Hamilton and and her lady-in-waiting, Christina von Schwerin.

Queen Silvia inaugurated today Association for Friends of Pauvres Honteux Foundation's day care for dementia care at Nockebyhöjden's nursing home.

The Queen visited Gothenburg and Mölndal to speak at the opening of the "International Conference on Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Diseases and related neurological disorders" and to visit Mölndal hospital to get information about the latest Alzheimer's research being conducted in Sweden.
In connection with the visit to Gothenburg, the Queen also had the opportunity to meet and talk to Ruth Arkby.
Ruth Arkby has left a large donation to the Fundraising Foundation for Queen Silvia's Children's Hospital.

The Queen was invited to speak at the government's conference on human trafficking for sexual purposes. The conference was arranged at Scandinavian XPO in Arlandastad on the occasion of Sweden's presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Yesterday Queen Silvia handed over scholarships from King Gustaf V and Queen Victoria's Freemasons' Foundation for research for the elderly.
The Queen awarded scholarship diplomas to 25 researchers in geriatrics at the ceremony in the Bååtska Palace in Stockholm. She is the patron of the Foundation.

On Friday, May 26, 2023, Queen Silvia of Sweden will be made an honorary citizen of the city of Heidelberg for her many services and outstanding social commitment. Mayor Eckart Würzner will present the city's highest award at a ceremony with around 120 invited guests in Heidelberg's town hall. For interested citizens, the ceremony will be broadcast live from 4 p.m. on the municipal YouTube channel.

Queen Silvia of Sweden, who was born in Heidelberg, will be made an honorary citizen of the city of Heidelberg on Friday, May 26, in the City hall for her diverse services and her outstanding social commitment. Mayor Eckart Würzner will honor Her Majesty with the highest award in the city of Heidelberg at a ceremony in the Great Hall of the City Hall. Only around 120 invited guests and accredited press representatives are allowed to take part in the event in the Heidelberg town hall.
The Mayor told that Tim de Toledo Sommerlath with his wife Lynn, Helena Sommerlath Sohns, her husband Jan Sommerlath Sohns and their daughter Amalia and queen Silvia's second cousin Wolfgang Langenstrassen and his son are there with the queen.

The Queen was received by Lord Mayor Eckart Wuerzner. This was followed by a ceremony in the Great Hall of the City Hall, which began with the Lord Mayor giving a tribute speech to the Queen.
The Queen was awarded honorary citizenship for her efforts and her social commitment. The Queen also received a gift from the city of Heidelberg.
After the ceremony, the Queen gave a speech of thanks.
The day ended with a reception in the City Hall for invited guests.

Queen Silvia sailed across the Neckar in her native town of Heidelberg on a ship named after her. The 50th anniversary of the German-Swedish Society, of which the Queen is patron, was celebrated with the trip on the "MS Königin Silvia" on Saturday evening. During the trip on the ship, the program included classical Swedish music, and an asparagus menu was also served. The cruise was also a fundraiser for the World Childhood Foundation.

Queen Silvia attended today a high-level meeting on child protection, focusing on EU support for rebuilding and reforming Ukraine's child protection system. The meeting is organized during the Swedish presidency of the Council of the European Union, the situation of Ukrainian children and how they are affected by Russia's large-scale invasion was discussed.
Ukraine's first lady Olena Zelenska participated in the meeting via link from Ukraine.

Seven lives is about Walter, Alice, Czesław, Lieselotte, Hanna, Kiwa and Eva. In this exhibition, you can follow them through war and persecution, in the ghetto, on the run and in camps. One of them came to Sweden on their own as a child, others survived both concentration camps and death marches.

While in the UK, queen Silvia visited also Larbert’s Forth Valley Royal Hospital

Forth Valley’s Maggie’s Centre received a royal visitor this week when Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden paid a visit.
The monarch met people living with cancer at the charity’s support centre in the grounds of Larbert’s Forth Valley Royal Hospital on Wednesday. As well as staff, the queen met a men’s support group round the kitchen table, women who had taken part in the centre’s expressive art class and members of the centre’s Nordic walking group.
