The doctors said (they were interviewed in Billed Bladet around the time of the surgery) that it was the best for movement in the knee if the patient was out of bed only hours after the surgery, so that the knee didn't stiffen. I'm not sure about going back to work, but this is one event that probably wouldn't take much time, even if it looks like it takes a lot of effort. Probably why this event was chosen as one to ease back into work, and not one where she would have to stand around for several hours.lise said:Is it normal for someone to be working three weeks after having knee replacement surgery?
It's good that Prince Joachim steps up to take care of his father's engagements in that time.UserDane said:According to BT, the Danish tabloid newspaper, prince Henrik is now also having health troubles of his own (http://www.bt.dk/royalt/artikel:aid=451012/). During his stay at Malta, he wounded his leg and the wound will not heal so he has been ordered to rest for a couple of weeks while his leg is being treated
They sure did, and thank you for posting the photo fanletizia. And as Her Majesty was about to get in the backseat of one of the royal limousines, a reporter had the audacity to yell at Her Majesty and ask her: "How is the knee coming along?", Her Majesty replied, unusually friendly, that it was coming along "fantastically". Normally, Her Majesty desists from answering reporters in this fashion, but I guess she used the opportunity to let her people know that she is doing very well. I, for one, was pleased to hear it anyway!fanletizia said:Queen Margrethe (R) and her husband Prince Consort Henrik (2nd R) arrives onboard their royal yacht Dannebrog, at the port of the provincial town of Arhus, to put up in their summer residence at Marselisborg Castle, July 1, 2006

Not the BT I linked to; that is a tabloid newspaper (= it is published daily) as I said. I don't know of a magazine in DK called BT.wiwaxia said:Poor Prince Henrik! - however, I would just like to say that BT is not a tabloid newspaper, but a magazine.
His face is very funny! Like: "Ooo come on! Let go me!"fanletizia said:Prince Consort Henrik handles a falcon during the opening ceremony of the European Hunting Horn championship in Horsens, Denmark July 8, 2006.
