Taking the royal yacht too. Well ...

and they really need to stop talking about the agreement. It is NOT being followed. It has been broken what 2-3 times in the last 2 years alone. No consequences.

very weak answers from Haakon.
" - Now it's the wedding first. We are looking forward to that. Then there is a time to talk further about the agreement and how we handle it."

More talk. But no, nothing is being handled when there is no consequences for breaking it.

In other words - we'll let them make millions from the royal title so they don't pester us for any - then we'll talk about restricting it. Or am I just being very cynical ;-)

He isn’t wrong in the sense that it is too late to stop this wedding now…. That should have been done a long time ago but that ship has sailed now…

The agreement is being broken on a daily basis now since the magazine buying the rights to the wedding is marketing it daily now as the ”royal” wedding of ”Princess” Märtha Louise, the daughter of the ”King” and ”Queen” of Norway, to Durek Verrett….

They finally found a workaround. Great way to avoid using the word princess: "the Norwegian king's eldest child".

And should we feel sorry for them because of the need to "navigate their new life surrounded by constant attention from the public." - that they so desperately crave themselves?

Can you imagine the pitch meeting for the Netflix series: "Here's the story: The 50-something daughter of the King of Norway -- let's not call her 'princess' -- who runs a school for people who want to talk to angels is marrying a 40-something divorced, bisexual, black, American convicted felon who works as a shaman dabbling in 'vagina imprints.' They constantly get in trouble with the media and their families. Hilarity ensues!"

I'm popping my popcorn already!

The 2022 agreement also says the couple "will not indicate their association with the Royal House of Norway [...] in media productions" and "the Princess and Durek Verrett will avoid [...] the use of pictures of, or references to, other members of the Royal House in channels where commercial activity also takes place".

In 2019, the Princess decided in consultation with her family not to use the title of Princess in connection with her business activity. This principle will now apply to her fiancé Durek Verrett as well.

Accordingly, they will not indicate an association with the Royal House of Norway in their social media channels (with the exception of @PrincessMarthaLouise on Instagram), in media productions or in connection with other commercial activities. In practice this means that the Princess and Durek Verrett will avoid mention of this association in activities such as social media tagging, the use of the Princess title or the use of pictures of, or references to, other members of the Royal House in channels where commercial activity also takes place. This includes interviews primarily intended to draw attention to commercial activity.

If there will be very few foreign royal guests, it would be fun to see what Durek will talk about next time. Is it because of his skin colour they did not attend, he will definitive say something about this. I am sure there will be alot of controversies after this wedding. What a mess the whole situation is... and I have not met anyone here in Norway that are positive to this couple. And that is not because of his skin colour, but everything else about him ( and her ).

Probably royals from Denmark and Sweden. (the minor royals, e.g. Joachim and Marie), or the minor royals of the European royalty.

Is it the custom in Norway for the father of the bride to ‘give away’ his daughter in marriage (no matter her age)? If so…?

Came across an article in The Times (of London) about the wedding - interesting to get an international perspective on it

I was honestly shocked after reading this.

I don't want to be rude—it's a wedding, after all—but I seriously feel like this could be a disaster for the Royal Family. I get that as a dad, the king probably feels pretty powerless, especially if his daughter is a bit of a rebel. But still, he's the head of the family, and it's on him to protect it

I may have missed it but are CPss Victoria and Pr Daniel going to the wedding? I can’t imagine they would.

I hope they do find happiness together. My concern is more about the impact on the royal family’s reputation. It’s not just about their personal relationship but how it affects the public perception of the royal family.

It is the general custom; I don't know about older age. When Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby married Crown Prince Haakon they walked down the aisle together because she was on poor terms with her father.

Though Martha-Louise was escorted by her father when she married Ari Behn it may be customary in the Norwegian Lutheran church for the bride and groom to walk down the aisle together?

It is in the Dutch protestant church it is at least - or used to be. And IIRC in Sweden the King walking his eldest daughter to the aisle was seen as a break of tradition and critisized. As a consequence he 'gave her away' to Prince Daniel some meters before the altar and the bridal couple walked the last part together.

The Royal House's communications manager Guri Varpe wrote in an email to NTB, that they will not publish any speeches at the wedding.
NTB has asked Simon Eriksen Valvik, press officer for the wedding, if the organizers will share the speeches from the party. He says that it will probably not happen. It is not known who will possibly give speeches at the wedding party in Geiranger.

She paused her training to attend a wedding in Italy. So that's not the reason why she doesn't attend the wedding in Norway, it's just a convenient excuse.

No, she didn't. The wedding of Daniel's niece in Italy was held in the end of June. Victoria started her officer training on August 19.

According to Se og Hør, it is the designer Tina Steffenakk Hermansen (49) who has been given the honorable task of designing Märtha Louise's wedding dress. , Maud Angelica Behn should also have left her mark on the wedding dress - a beautiful gesture that emphasizes the close bond between mother and daughter.

Durek's siblings, Angelina and Brandon, are both in Oslo to take part in the wedding celebration.
Neither mum Veruschka Urquhart nor sister Demi DeLaNuit has been invited.
Just a couple of days before the wedding, Demi tries again to stop the princess wedding, and publishes an open letter to King Harald, in which she begs the monarch to take action. (..)

But then Sonja was escorted down the aisle by King Olav and they did not walk together. And King Olav also escorted his daughters Astrid and Ragnhild down the aisle.

Something more serious: I visit the Norway part of the Royal Forums not that often, but I mean to remember, that Shaman Durek had some serious medical issues - the kidneys! And he was waiting for a donor organ... He was alledgedly even saying, he would only marry his Princess after the successful medical transplant...

What happend to this? I can not remember to have been reading something about an medical operation...

Durek spoke about his kidney problem on August 2 and I posted about it:

- KS "Norge" plans to arrive in Geiranger on Friday, writes Guri Varpe, head of communications at the Palace, in an SMS to Dagbladet.
The Norwegian Coastal Administration's AIS service, which shows all ships in Norwegian waters, shows on Tuesday morning that the Royal Ship Norge is at Åheim in Vanylven municipality. The ship's stated destination: Sunnmøre. It is not a long voyage to Geiranger, where the royal family will live on the ship during the wedding.

- I can now confirm that Their Royal Highnesses the Crown Princess, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia will be present at the wedding in Norway, says Deputy Director of the Information Department at the court, Johan Tegel to NTB in an email.

The Director of the Information Department Margareta Thorgren comfirmed this to Svensk Damtidning and wrote also "as it is a private event, we have no further information to provide".

This shows well the closeness and warm relationship the Swedish and Norwegian Royal Families have.

Guri Varpe said that the Norwegian Royal Family doesn't talk to the press during the wedding.

But on the other hand. The NRF has decided that the speeches will not be published.
- Combined with the photo-conditions, that must be said to be as official a disapproval of the, let's call it commercialization of the wedding, that the NRF can utter and still maintain a relative peace within the family, given the peculiar circumstances.

And you know what? Durek can change people's age. Says so in the article.
Wow! There are many women worldwide who would marry a man with such abilities in a heartbeat. Not least in Hollywood, I imagine...

This is surprising. But it shows that the two royal families have a good relationship.
But it is strange that the Danish Royal Family is not represented at this wedding.

Crown Princess Victoria is known to be friends with Princess Märtha Louise, isn't she? I wonder why Prince Carl Philip and his wife will be attending while Princess Madeleine and her husband will not.
