Thank you so much for the pictures, Mandyy & Jess! Isn't that the same outfit she wore during the Russian State Visit last autumn while visiting the Mauritshuis with Mrs. Putin?

I really like it and the hat is cool too. I think that the so-called World Down Syndrome Awareness Day is just a great opportunity to show and teach people more about children (and elder people) with the syndrom of Down. A great project for Maxima to be involved in!

(It's about time the weather gets better over here, Maxima is wearing a lot of dark colors these days. Hope to see her in something more colourful soon!)

First Spring Engagements for Sophie & Maxima

Two of Europe's favourite young royal mums were on radiant form as they carried out charity engagements on the same day in different countries.
Spring had definitely sprung for the Countess of Wessex and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands, who were both presented with cheerful seasonal blooms at their respective engagements on Tuesday.

Maxima, though, kept to darker shades and a neat winter hat for her day out with Down Syndrome children in Rotterdam. The wife of Crown Prince Willem-Alexander clearly relished her part in celebrating World Down Syndrome Awareness Day on March 21. The 21st day of the third month of the year symbolises the threefold presence of the 21st chromosome, which is the cause of the disorder.

I've attached what it says on the British royal family's official site. Edward is coming to the Hague. But you are right, the official Dutch site says nothing about Maxima being there.

The Earl of Wessex Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, International Foundation, will attend the Europe, Mediterranean and Arab States region Youth Event in Den Haag, The Netherlands from 19th - 20th April.
