Princess Caroline and her work for AMADE

Oh! Too bad there's no pic. But it's good to hear that Charlotte went with her.

I wonder if Charlotte was simply standing in for Andrea, or if she's taking over the duties of AMADE?

:previous: Mmm that's good question. I think it's the first time we see her in AMADE? I don't remember if we saw her before. So, it can be one of those two options.

I used to be very impressed with Princess Caroline's work with AMADE, until I realized there was one child of African origin she would not be photographed holding, her own nephew. I know, it may not be her doing, etc, etc. But Princess Caroline is a strong woman, as she has clearly shown throughout her life. If she wanted to be seen holding her little nephew, she would. The proverb says, "charity begins at home". What she does, however worthy it may be, pales in comparison to what she could be doing in her own family, and seems too focused on media recognition and adulation.
in this day and age ... I agree.....I am of a mixed breed french/blk and my white side of my family....... dosent want to know me

I can only speculate because I don't know Caroline, but I don't think it has to do with racism. One of her best friends is that African singer--can't remember her name but she's often seen with the Casiraghi trio--and she seems to adore Nelson Mandela. I think it has more to do with propriety. Which doesn't make it anymore right, it's just what I think. Because just like she hasn't been seen with Alexandre (who is so friggin adorable by the way), she also hasn't been seen with Jazmin.

Have you ever seen Princess Caroline with Stephanie's illegitimate child (forgot the daughter's name) or Prince Albert's other illegitimate child - his daughter (both are white) - I believe it's because they are not legitimate, rather than having anything to do with race. I don't believe that Prince Rainer or Princess Grace raised them to believe they were better than other races of people, and they haven't conducted their lives that way (nor, have you seen/heard stories of them denying non-whites anything).

I agree with you iloveroyals... 100%. For a woman who is said to love children, who's been so much involved in childhood support work for the past 30 years; for a woman with such strong maternal instincts, it sure seems strange that she puts such distance towards her nephews and nieces, and not just towards Albert's children... Have you ever seen her holding, hugging or simply interacting with Stépnanie's children? Or have you ever seen her children playing with their cousins? Notice that Camille is barely older than Alexandra and we've never seen yhem together... :baby::baby::baby:

Due, it's their loss, not yours, if they don't want to associate with you.

I'm about as "white" as they come, with freckles, red hair, pale skin, but I've always longed for a "Mediterranean" complexion :)

Let's get back on topic.

Its highly speculative to discuss Caroline's relationship with her nieces and nephews. The Princess doesn't live life on a reality television show, so we don't know what she does or who she interacts with 24/7. In addition, we can leave the subject of race out of thread as well.

Let's stay focused on the Princess's work for AMADE.

Here are some more pics and information about Princess Caroline's
visit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from November 24-25, 2009.

We already knew that she met with Princess Haya, but she also
attended a lunch organized by Dubai’s Young President’s Organization’s
and a lunch organized by the Rotary Club of Dubai. This gave her
"the opportunity to address the most influential members of the
Arab world to share Her thoughts and concerns about children
around the world".

And finally some very nice pics from the fundraising lunch in London,
Princess Caroline and Charlotte Casiraghi attended on December 1,
2009. The donations will be spend for child-support programmes in
the Philippines manged by the Virlanie Foundation that is supported
by AMADE Mondiale.

:xmastree:The Wine colored dress was exquisite for such a wonderful occasion.

happy holidays to all:candycane:

I like the tuxedo dress from the angles in pics 2, 3 and 4 but I have to say it doesn't look particularly flattering in pic 1. Caroline looks good though. I like her up do - I think it softens her looks a little. I particularly like Jacky Ickx's look (very dapper) as well. Thanks for the pics Ice! :flowers:

You are most welcome, Thecia! I like the earrings best, she wears seem
for many years now and they always look great :)

The AMADE meeting takes place till today, April 30 at the Novotel Monaco,
main themes this year are the street children in Manila, the community
support around the orphans of Burundi and the participation of AMADE
at "Monaco Collectif Haiti" for survivors of the earthquake of January 12.

I think P Caroline looks elegant but I dont really like the tuxedo look on her - I know she needs to dress elegantly formal but I dont think what she is wearing does her any real favours - I like the earings and her hair, but hey you cant please everybody all the time....I look forward to the forthcoming summer...what I have noticed though in a few of the past events in the last couple of months is that she still wears a ring on her wedding finger!

Oh, you mean heavy-ish looking one? I wouldn't take it to mean anything of any great significance. She has been wearing that ring a lot, but she's been swapping from finger to finger and from hand to hand. Last year she wore it on her left little finger, then I saw her wearing it on her right hand (I don't remember which finger), then at the flower show she wore it on her left middle finger and now on her left ring finger. I don't think the ring is her wedding ring from Ernst - if I recall correctly that was a white-gold colour. But I could be wrong. Unless it's her wedding ring from Stefano but I wouldn't know that because I can't even remember what it looked like :ermm: Anyway, as I said, I wouldn't take it to mean much. :flowers:

Very elegant Caroline. Albert looks good too.
I would have like to see Andrea there too, I thought he was involved with AMADE? Maybe I'm wrong.
BTW, I love Caroline's jewellery.

Two nice purepeople galleries with pics of both events:

** Caroline de Monaco : Loin des paillettes, elle brille par son engagement... et ses accessoires bien choisis ! **

Well, i wouldn't say colourful and... necessarely beuatiful, but volourful and original... well, that's for sure. ;););)
By the way, she looks very elegant in her soirée outfit! :flowers:

She has a very nice style. And her accesories are great. I love seeing her working for AMADE.

It's great thas she stays devoted to AMADE - I'm sure her devotion helps center her during these tough times, and the children benefit from her effort, too.

Princess Caroline does it again. Her total look for both events for AMADE were wonderfully coordinated. The only thing maybe were the length of her grey pants. She wore them very long just like Princess Mary. I worry that both princesses might trip.:flowers:

What a wonderful woman! She never stops amazing me!

The current programme tries to match "One birth in Monaco - One birth in Niger" - it's about improving antenatal care by issueing expectant mothers with an ante-natal kit.

Niger - key data: 700 000 births per year
Number of deliveries in maternity hospitals: only 16 %
High mortality rates of children

She's amazing - so glad that she continues to focus attention on the good works of AMADE.

Yesterday April 30th, a new book was launched in favour of AMADE:

Title: Women of Monaco
Author: Jean-Pierre Campana (specialises in medicine and the law).

Caroline and Alexandra with former champion figure skater Surya Bonaly

http://i53.tinypic.com/10qkp36.jpg

Former champion figure skater Surya Bonaly and Princess of Hanover have formally met on Thursday in Monaco. The opportunity to return to the champion's commitment to programs for child welfare conducted by AMADE.

Since retiring from international competition, the former figure skating star - nine times champions of France and five times European champion - has repeatedly demonstrated its commitment in many battles such as animal advocacy.

Last spring, that children in need as Surya Bonaly wanted to dedicate his participation in the reality TV show Celebrity Farm in Africa. By choosing to represent the AMADE she wished above all that its earnings can help disadvantaged children around the world. Thanks to his brilliant career in the broadcast, the sum of 60,000 euros has been paid to the shareholders - a significant contribution in a difficult financial situation which naturally inhibits the impulses of solidarity.

Sensitive to this gesture, HRH Princess of Hanover had the opportunity to personally thank Surya Bonaly for his commitment.

Always between two sports exhibitions in the United States, the female made the trip to Monaco to interview the President of AMADE. An informal meeting and in small groups in offices of the association, in which Surya Bonaly stressed the importance of the daily struggle for children in need, his pride and make its contribution. The funds from this transaction will strengthen the support provided by AMADE orphans and vulnerable children in Burundi and its actions in favor of educating children in Niger.

Alexandra looks so pretty! And Caroline's casual style is nice, she looks simple but elegant at the same time.

Great! I bet Alexandra was excited to meet Surya Bonaly. Being something of a figure skater herself. It would be so awesome if Alex continues with that. She won the silver in that competition in Monaco earlier this year, so I bet she has lots of potential!

On October 15, the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy will play host to the first edition of the the Ballo del Giglio in the presence and "under the patronage of Her Royal Highness The Princess of Hanover, President of Amade". Apparently, the gala was inspired by the Rose Ball and is promoted by the Honorary Consul of Monaco in Italy.
