Thanks Ianna for adding that pic, it's great - mother and daughter enjoying Lenny Kravitz, The Corrs and the Rasmus.

World Association of Children's Friends (AMADE - the organization Caroline presides)

I think it's a good thing, maybe, to have a thread where we can discuss this excellent organization of which Caroline is President and by which Andrea Casiraghi has had some of his training (in 2003 mostly, but also as recently as April? this year).
Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems that AMADE has its major conference and gala event in April each year?

Here are some links I found which give more concise information about what AMADE does exactly:
The official site: http://www.amade-mondiale.org/

AMADE is one of the United Nations' many hundreds of NGO's and was founded by Princess Grace in 1963. On this site, there is a list of the core objectives of AMADE:

Here is the AMADE of Monaco site (it's in French but they have a drop-down box at the upper right corner where you can choose an English or Italian version): http://www.amade-monaco.org/ (It's obviously in construction, as most of the links in the left frame don't work.)

http://www.monte-carlo.mc/amade/campaign/amade_gb.htm (I love the quote from Caroline on this site: "It's not because of filial piety that I chose to succeed my mother as President....but out of a sense of duty..." (my recollection of the words doesn't do the quote any justice.)

Boston honored Caroline for her AMADE work this past week: http://www2.townonline.com/medfield/artsLifestyle/view.bg?articleid=497854

Online casino and F1 stars team up to raise awareness and funds for AMADE with the soccer game that will be on May 23rd in Louis II stadium of Monte Carlo: http://www.onlinecasinonews.com/ocnv2_1/article/article.asp?id=10511

AMADE Mondiale allocates over 330,000 euros to deprived children

Blindness, HIV, psychological disturbances… the list is alarmingly long and AMADE Mondiale are always eager to get on their soapbox in order to relieve the suffering of the most fragile and vulnerable – children. This summer, no less than 335,000 € is being spent to support programmes to aid children across the globe.

Thanks for the pics!:flowers:
Nice to see her on Amade events! She shows her great care for Amade!
Anyways, Princess Caroline doesn't look nice in this pics, IMO.
I don't know why but she looks older, maybe because of the bad light of the pics.
I don't like her suit, and IMO she should have worn a top under the jacket, and how not to talk of her peep toe shoes?
Really fashionable, undoubtedly, but I find them very ugly!
I am sadly disappointed by her outfit, ...once again:sad:.

Has she converted to "le style Carlà"?

If you look at the group picture you can see all woman in similar clothes, so there is some kind of dresscode for that kind of event..... she do look a bit tired allthought...not exactly old, just tired in her face...maybe she had a late night out the night before...

I agree with Giov, Caroline looks old in these pictures. She has access to the best makeup artists and hairstylists why doesn't she take advantage of that?? A little botox wouldn't hurt either, she certainly can afford it. I do not mean to be critical of her looks but she can afford to look much better than that. jmo.

I am not sure this is the right thread!

Thanx Giov for the pitcures, I think P Caroline shows an inner radiance of long ago in these photos:flowers:

Agree She looks like she has looks totally relaxed and glowing.

Glistening Seas

:)Indeed the Amade pics were terrific. The group pics were fab. Love Caroline's dress but also the jacket of the person next to her. It looked like chocolatte colored or carmel colored velvet? or was that Suede fabric? It was very elegant. Caroline's darker black or grey contrast was nice as well. Although she can always wear colors well. Pss. Grace was like that as well. Her wardrobe always seemed infused with colors. :harvest::xmasbell::wreath:

I completely agree! I haven't seen her have this look for years and years and years. :heartflower:I am very happy to see her like this!!

I second (or third) that thought. I hope that things are truly going well for her and her family.

Does anyone know if P. Caroline plans to make, in 2009, one of her long trips to those poorer countries where children's life conditions ( nourrition, health, education, ... ) is so often forgotten or ignored? She visited Filipinas in 2004 and Africa in 2006 as President of Amade. Will she visit any other poor country this year?

Yes! It's quite funny that you've asked this today, because from tomorrow
on she'll be on such a trip again. According to Amade Mondiale:

H.R.H. The Princess of Hanover will visit Niger on 5-7 February 2009 in order to examine AMADE's activities. The journey will be the opportunity to visit the Health and Research on Sickle Cell Disease Centre, as well as to launch the program for Education on the Ganguel Plateau.

I hope we'll get information as well as pics from that trip!

I wonder if Andrea will make a follow up visit - he seems to follow later on trips she's taken; AMADE still seems to be the one charity he's investing time in, so I hope he either goes with her on this trip, or follows at a later date to see how things are going.

On the Amade site there is one small photo and a mention of the trip to Niger. The link is:

At this site there is a beautiful photo of Princess Caroline with a child - I don't know if the photo is new or not. If it is she has gotten her hair cut again.

Hope it's okay to post links?

I used to be very impressed with Princess Caroline's work with AMADE, until I realized there was one child of African origin she would not be photographed holding, her own nephew. I know, it may not be her doing, etc, etc. But Princess Caroline is a strong woman, as she has clearly shown throughout her life. If she wanted to be seen holding her little nephew, she would. The proverb says, "charity begins at home". What she does, however worthy it may be, pales in comparison to what she could be doing in her own family, and seems too focused on media recognition and adulation.

The pics in those links are old ones from her last trip. It seems
there has not been any big media coverage like during her last
visit, but I wish there had been as it supports her work and makes
people aware of the problems..
I still hope that a magazine has some exclusive pics, we'll see..

thanks iceflower :flowers: - sorry for posting old stuff! They really were beautiful photos, though.

And no matter what a person's shortcomings or perceived shortcomings I do think they should be given credit for the good that they do.

I love picture #4 above - wearing traditional outfit! She even makes THAT look fashionable!!:ROFLMAO:
