Princess Astrid attended a tribute ceremony to the victims
of the World War II within the framework of the National Day
of the Political Prisoner and the commemoration of the 65th
anniversary of the end of the World War II in Europe, Brussels,
Aril 25, 2010.

On May 20, Princess Astrid attended at the Castle of Laeken an academic
session organized by the Medical Foundation Queen Elisabeth (QEMF) of
which she is Honorary President. After the conference Astrid handed out
the scientific awards of QEMF 2010, the scientific prizes are awarded to
support university research teams in the field of neuroscience.

Does anyone know what is next for Princess Astrid's son Prince Joachim, now that he has finish (or so I believe) his schooling at Malvern College?

On September 2nd, Princess Astrid attended the conference on child poverty
themed "Who Cares?" A Roadmap for a Recommendation to Fight Child Poverty":

Today, September 9, Princess Astrid (here pictured with EU High Representative
for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton) attended the start of
the 'Ensuring Women's Participation in Peace and Security' conference in Brussels.

Today, Sepember 22, Princess Astrid attended the official unveiling of
the auditory King Albert II in the Palace of the Academies in Brussels.

As part of her activities related to persons with disabilities, Princess Astrid
has visited the institution "Blessed Shelter" ("Heureux Abri") on October 8th
2010, in Momignies.

Princess Astrid of Belgium attended the "Lantern Parade" on the Grand Place of Brussels. The parade is one of the actions made for the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty - organised by the 'Belgian network against poverty'.

Princess Astrid at the "Ladies Night" conference and dinner on October 22, 2010
in Brussels. The "Ladies Night" was dedicated to medical advance in neuroscience
and organized by and in the local of the Cercle Royal Gaulois Artistique et Littéraire.

Not sure where exactly to post this, so I will put it here and hope no-one if offended if i am wrong!! Does anyone know how many staff the Prince and Princess have working for them? Part of me things thye wouldn't have very many at all but then Princess Astrid is the daughter of a King so I imagine she must have a few?

Princess Astrid attended the 50th anniversary of the "Belgian Paralympic
Committee" that was celebrated in the gothic room of the Brussels City
Hall - Grand Place of Brussels on Friday October 29, 2010.
IOC president Jacques Rogge was also present.

Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz are in Vientiane, Laos from November 9th till 11th, to attend
the Convention on Cluster Munitions.

In her role as Honorary President of the Damien Foundation Princess Astrid is
on a three-day visit to India from January 18th- 21st.

Princess Astrid attended the ECF Routes Princess Margriet Award for Cultural
Diversity' in Brussels on February 8, 2011. The ECF was awarded to Sejla
Kameric and Kutlug Ataman. Princess Margriet and Princess Laurentien
attended as well.

the European Consensus Conference on Homelessness to European commissioner
for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, and to the Secretary of State for Social
Integration and the Fight against Poverty, Brussels, February 8, 2011.

The Royal Palace has announced that Princess Astrid had to undergo an operation
at the University Hospital Saint-Pierre in Brussels today. It's been a benign urological
problem, the operation went well and Princess Astrid is doing well. She'll stay at the
hospital for a few more days and will then need some weeks for recovery.

Archduke Lorenz attended the funeral of the Fürst of Quadt (husband of princess Charlotte of Bavaria), last weekend.

Princess Astrid has visited the exhibition of the Belgian photographer Lieve Blancquaert in Ghent, April 26, 2011.
2011 is a jubilee year for Ms. Blancquaert who has worked 25 years as a photographer. Her works are exhibited
in the historical building of the "Bank van de Arbeid"in Ghent.
