Thus it showed the mayor of Sa Pobla, Antoni Serra, while giving the Medal and a commemorative diploma to the Princes, in a solemn act that was celebrated this morning in the municipal hall plenary sessions.
The visit of Don Felipe and Doña Letizia to Sa Pobla began at 11,00 o clock, when they inaugurated a seat that the City council has dedicated to them. After their arrival to the new Seat Princes of Asturias, the pair was received by the president of the Balearic Goverment, Jaume Matas, and the mayor of Sa Pobla.
Also they attended the inauguration act the presidents of the Consell of Majorca, Maria Antonia Munar, and the Balearic Parlament, Pere Rotger; the delegate of the Government in Balearic, Ramon Partners; the commander-in-chief in the islands, Jose Emilio Roldán; the colonel of the Civil Guard, Javier Garci'a Rock, and the City council of Sa Pobla in the heat of, represented by all its councilmen, who carried the medal of the Corporation.
The Princes discovered next to Matas and Serra the monolith in which the name of the seat could be read and crossed the new public space, located to the entrance of the locality.

Then, the Princes moved to the municipal hall plenary sessions, where the act of delivery of the Gold medal was celebrated, under the bust of King Juan Carlos who presides over the stay.

The official cronista of Sa Pobla, the writer Alexandre Ballester, read the act of 6 of July in which the City council approved the delivery of the distinction unanimously. In its speech, Serra emphasized the historical hostilities surpassed by the locality until obtaining the prosperity by means of the agricultural operation at the beginning of century XX. “The character and enterprising spirit” of Sa Pobla and the “permanent eagerness of overcoming” of their inhabitants also were outstanding by the president of the Goverment.
Also, Bushes expressed the “affection” that the citizens of the islands feel to Infanta Leonor, of whose gestation he was known shortly before that Princes de Asturias made his first official visit to the Independent Community of Balearic, from the 9 to the 13 of May of the last year.
In the course of that official trip, the Princes visited Sa Pobla for the first time, which motivated the desire of this population to express its gratitude to them with the concession of the Gold medal.
Don Felipe, was thankful, in his name and the one of the Princess, the delivery of the distinction with a speech that began speaking in Catalan and in that it emphasized the “pride” with receiving the Medal and the emotion that the recibimiento given by the neighbors of Sa Pobla causes to them “warm”. At the end of the act, the Princes left the consistorial building and contemplated the performance of a local grouping of dancers of Majorcan boleros, whose members were adorned with the island typical suits.
Next, they crossed the seat of the City council, where a thousand of people met to greet the Princes.
During half an hour, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia were shaking the hands of the neighbors, who demanded their attention calling to them by their names. The Princes received several gifts of the citizens of Sa Pobla, between which was a wood balance beam with horse form, for Doña Leonor.
