Compared to the other Grace Kelly exhibition openings the one in Sao Paulo
on May 5th, hasn't been covered much:

Oh wow, after seeing that exquisite tiara that Grace wore back in the mid-60's to a Victorian Ball, I would love love love for Charlene to wear that one on her wedding day, ahhh.... :heart1:

Albert II arrived in Brazil accompanied only by Colonel Philiponart.

It was his third time in São Paulo.

The visit adopted an informal tone.

In 1998 when he was in São Paulo with Rainier II, their entourage had 60 people.

Besides opening the exhibition in honor of his mother – Grace Kelly’s Years – at Museu de Arte Brasileira da Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (Faap), he met the Governor of São Paulo, visited a Football (Soccer) Training Center and met some friends.

During his stay, he was escorted by the Federal Police (PF) of Brazil.

He stayed at the Tivoli São Paulo- Mofarrej Hotel (TIVOLI - Hotels &amp Resorts - O Hotel ). His suite occupies the entire 22nd floor and is 750 m ². It was decorated with pastel colored Colombian roses, his favorite flower.

The first thing in his schedule was a lunch with a friend with whom Albert studied at Harvard.

Then, his friend took him to the Training Center of São Paulo Football Club. Prince Albert chatted in French with some players and was impressed with all the trees that surround the place as the city of São Paulo is known for being a concrete and steel jungle. The Prince was friendly and not formal at all, even embracing São Paulo’s goal keeper, Rogerio Ceni, who gave him the team’s shirt.

Everybody tried to please the Prince, offering him all kinds of food but he tried to maintain his diet. At the football club facilities he only drank coconut water.

Later, the Prince went to the most exclusive Club in São Paulo, Harmonia, to play tennis.

The next day, for breakfast, he said he didn’t want any ham, sausages or .omelet; he ordered just tropical fruit and light sandwiches.

He paid an official vist to the Governor Geraldo Alckmin at Palácio dos Bandeirantes to discuss sustainability as Prince Albert is raising funds for the Foundation Albert II, dedicated to the environment. He was served coffe and “pão de queijo” (small round home made fresh cheese buns, a traditional Brazilian patisserie)

During his stay he also attended a lunch prepared by Chef Toninho Mariutti, a diner at the home of Celita Procopio de Carvalho, curator of Faap, and yet another diner for 120 guests in the mansion of banker Joseph Safra.

Well, he will have to keep his diet in Monaco - lol

Lol, that was a lovely report, cmbruno, thanks so much! :)

Aha, so he is dieting for the wedding. ;) :D

Yes, an amazing report, with so much detail, even the name of the chef.....
many thanks !!

As to dieting, I fear PA hasn't got a chance - he is a middle-aged man....

Such a pessimist you are, Renata4711. :D

I fear you are the type that sees the glass as half empty versus half full. I, OTOH, am the latter, thus I see PA regaining the figure he had as a youth (or almost). :heart1:

Well, you must be one of those eternal optimists then....

PA looks just like millions of middle-aged men who have been drinking too much, or eating too much fattening food. Alas, only surgery can remedy that state.

And I can't see PA making a huge (or even small) effort to look like a monarch.

Remember the Swedish wedding? Talk about embarassment..... and yet CW doesn't seem to mind.

Well, ageing has a terrible effect on everybody- very few people seem to be imune to it. But yet, he is still a good looking man.

After having critired her yet protestant religion, after having critized she doen't speak french, it is the fault of Charlene that Prince Albert is too big, oh my god! what another thing?

He is a 53 year old man....is he expected to look like a Calvin Klein underwear model?

Here, here, NGalitzine. So what if Prince Albert is not aging as gracefully as George Clooney, I still think CW could do a lot worse! ;)

PA has all the advantages of a princely life, but he cannot be bothered even to look the part.

How is a prince supposed to look anyway? The advantages of a princely life -- is he supposed to have liposuction or something? For Prince William, is he supposed to have hair graft to look the part?

He looks decent, has worthy causes, and appears to be at peace with his appearance. I'd prefer a guy who is comfortable and decent vs a metrosexual who is so full of himself.

He looks like he has lost some weight to me. She loves and accepts him the way he is so there is no problem he is trying to lose weight for the wedding.

Honestly, how can anyone resist a man in uniform, and I mean that most sincerely.
