On this day, April 15, 1969, Queen Victoria Eugenia of Battenberg, Queen Consort of Spain, died in Lausanne.

Queen Victoria Eugenia is the reason why we restore the monarchy upon the demonic Franco's demise. She told him, directly and with no fear, he had to go on record while he was alive that her grandson, Juan Carlos, was going to succeed him to prevent a succession chaos. And Franco listened to her advice.

This happened during the baptism of our current king Felipe in 1968 when Franco was still dancing around candidates to succeed him as far as the 1950s that included Juan Carlos, his rival the Duke of Cadiz - married to Franco's granddaughter, a Carlist pretender. Even Otto Von Hapsburg was considered at some point to restore the old dynasty, since like the Bourbons, the Hapsburgs are direct descendants of the Spanish Trastamaras.

But Queen Victoria took care of all candidates in one frank conversation with Franco in 1968.
