i don't see the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara happening for the wedding. it is too grand a tiara for a wedding of someone marrying into the family. if kate, who is higher up in precedence, didn't use it, i just don't think meghan will. a similar thinking applies, in my opinion, to Queen Mary's Fringe Tiara and Queen Mary's Lover's Knot Tiara. these are definitely not 'starter' tiaras.

same for the halo: given it's association with kate, i think meghan will prefer another tiara on her big day.

the papyrus is lovely, but its shape is tricky to wear. i am hoping she will bring out something not seen for a while, just as kate did with the halo. maybe the Queen Mary of the United Kingdom's Filigree Tiara?

a new / refurbished tiara isn't an unreasonable option in my mind. many houses give new tiaras or tiaras made with old stone to more junior members (and we've seen that for sophie and for sarah ferguson in the BRF, and recently in sweden when sofia got her own new tiara).

The last modern tiara of the British collection might be the aquamarine and ruby tiara's of QEII. Neither of them a great success I fear.

Altho' pretty, Bentley and Skinner seems to charge 'over the odds' for its jewels - they have VERY expensive showrooms in St James' to finance.

Tiara's at auction are far better value...

I just can't imagine that the RF will buy a tiara that has some kind of signature on the internet. Imo, it's much more likely, that they will look for something they can buy discreetly at a jeweler or even privately. So nobody can report distracting stories about the price, or the former owner. Look at CP Mary's wedding tiara: there is nothing known about it's origins.

If she gets a new tiara, I do hope that it will be convertible into a necklace. Meghan will have many more black tie events than white tie and tiara events. And her children will probably wear tiaras only on their wedding days. But there will always be necklace events, I daresay.

The fellows tiara is the only one of the three I like but it is like the halo, its tiny. Its going to get lost under any kind of veil at a wedding. And if Meghan is going to have one tiara like Sophie for years, she should have something with a bit more presence IMO.

Actually the Halo Tiara is not teeny, tiny at all. It is one of the most distinctive tiaras's around with its triple row of diamonds across the bottom. It is all in the way it is worn, as this photo of QM shows the only time she was photographed wearing it. The disadvantage is that it does not sit on a covered frame.

I have to admit, I think it is a perfect tiara but not when it is covered by a veil, nor with a lot of veil net behind it. I have to admit my secret hope is that since this is Meghan's second marriage, she will wear this tiara for her wedding but forgo wearing a veil or, if she does wear a veil, it will be as fabulously transparent as Princess Grace's which managed to not obscure her headpiece or even removable as was Diana's.

I highly doubt it would have been an option either way. Having Meghan wear Kate's 'wedding tiara' seemed highly unlikely anyways. They wouldn't have wanted to draw comparisons.

Realistically, the way it is designed, much of the base would be hidden in modern hair styles.

Who cares that people will criticize her...they will do that regardless. Queen Letizia of Spain wore a veil for het second marriage. Meghan should wear the wedding dress she wants.

Of course compared with other tiaras of BRF it's pretty small but I also think the Halo is not that tiny.

It's difficult to let the tiara shine if the veil is placed right behind the tiara, especially when your tiara is not tall enough/you get a massive updo or veil(e.g. Kate or Mary. Maxima's big veil also was attached behind the tiara but, thanks to its height, the tiara didn't lose in her hair and veil).

I think veil can go well with tiara, as long as you don't placed it right behind the tiara. Stephanie and Mette-Marit put their veils on their low buns, which IMO work so well.

But is there a tradition that the veil should cover her face when she enters the church in BRF? As I remember all Anne, Diana, Sarah and Sophie's veils covered their faces (not sure about the Queen and Margaret). Would it look weird if you wear a veil (which is attached on your low bun) over your face while you have a tiara on your head? I can't think of anyone who has this look.

For those that will criticize her for a veil, they will also criticize her for wearing white. And this being her second marriage is being treated as a non-issue here. She will have everything that a first time bride will have. The only reason she'd forego something is if it doesn't go with the entire theme of what she and Harry wants to do with the wedding.

This is a royal wedding in a large and old/historic Church. My feeling is that she is going to go all out..tiara, veil and a shade of white/cream/ivory dress.

I do not believe that Meghan will wear the Halo Tiara. This is to be her wedding day. There would be too many comparisons between her and Catherine. After all, Meghan's wedding is not a contest. The wedding is a religious and sacred event.

I would imagine 99% of people wouldn't even think of the idea that Meghan shouldn't where a veil at her wedding and so I think it is a mute point.

However, I personally quite like the idea of a royal bride opting to forego a veil - but if she did, the tiara would have to be quite elaborate I think.

Brides born royal (including Princess Anne) in the British Royal Family traditionally do not where a veil that covered their face. I fully expect Meghan to wear a diamond tiara and a veil covering her face.

Actually, I think wearing a veil with no blusher is the best option for a second wedding, and the idea of a lower anchor for the veil certainly has its merits. Mette Marit and Stephanie pulled that look off with class and Clare wore a beautiful veil attached either to or behind her tiara and wore no blusher.

I don't know when blushers entered into common usage in the UK and such countries because they rarely look good. I am going to step out on a veritable twig to opine that Princess Grace really kicked-started that custom and if it is made the same way and with the same fabric maybe it will work. Mostly though I find them an annoyance e.g. Sophie and Catherine's were awfully heavy and droopy.

If I have to pick a lasting impression of a wedding party then, without a doubt, it would be Sarah Chatto's. And I think she had the very best tiara. Perhaps she could lend it to Meghan as "something borrowed" since she has no daughter and Harry is her Godson.

That photo, for me, encapsulates everything good about a bride. She looked like a swan surrounded by signets. It is a serenely self-confident bride who dresses her adult bridesmaids so very like herself and that particular "look" is inspiring.

Eh not a fan of the Floral Tiara won by Sarah Chatto. Reminds me too much of the Strathmore as well.

I ran across the wedding dress of Lady Sarah Armstrong Jones and I like the bodice on that one too. Lady Sarah Chatto's bodice was lovely except for that pronounced point at the bottom..that was kinda off for me.

Sophie and Kate has the same problem which the veil kept rubbing their faces. I don't know it's because the fabric is too soft or too heavy. Zara's veil, even though it is messy to me, is airy (or hard?) enough to keep certain distance from her face.

btw I pretty like Zara's tiara-veil-hair combination (although I still think the veil is awful), I hope Meghan will go for similar style.

camilla herself wore grey to her ceremony with charles, and i guess that is precisely given she was married before. whether meghan will choose the same is to be seen. my guess will be she will still wear white.
