MT was the only one tonight who wore a Tiara. The rest of the Ladies sadly didn't.
Does anyone get that? It seems to be a new virus in Royal circles... some attend with Tiaras and some don't. It starts scaring me. First the Dutch Royals did that, then the Belgians... now the Swedish...

Winner tonight: M-T!
The Grandduchess looks radiant!

That's right. But I like her tiara very much. MT look simply great tonight. It was the same at the State Visit to Denmark in 2003. At the return event Maria Teresa was the only who wore a tiara, the diamond and pearl one.
Could it have something to do with that noone wears orders? I don´t think that i have ever seen a member of the Swedish Royal Family wearing a tiara without wearing an order. Maybe the Swedish and the Luxembourg familys have different standards when it comes to "rules" when to wear a tiara or not? Does anyone know if i´m right?
Sad that the Swedish didn´t wear full gala tonight, but it is the host (in this case the Ducal family) that sets the dress code for the return dinner right?
It doesn't appear that MT is wearing a tiara in the group photo.
Would she really do that do you think - take it off straight away? The Empress of Japan wore a tiara at a dinner earlier this year when noone from the Swedish RF did...Thats what I was going to say. Its like she didn't know that it wasn't a tiara event till she saw the other ladies and then took it off. Its a beautiful tiara though!
I ment the other way around, they never wear (to my knowledge) a tiara without an order, but they do wear orders without tiaras...When Victoria turn 18 she wore blue gown and the Most Noble Order of the Seraphim.

What about noble ladies without order but with tiaras?I ment the other way around, they never wear (to my knowledge) a tiara without an order, but they do wear orders without tiaras...

I'm a bit confused why Princess Madeleine wore a fur jacket but Crown Princess Victoria didn't even have one (either a shawl or a jacket). Was it cold this evening?
I've seen Princess Victoria's gown before but are Princess Madeleine's and Queen Silvia's gown new?
Hope someone can provide some info.
Thanks,
Ayvee
It was something between +5 and +10 degrees (C), so it wasn't that cold.
Yesterday was a sunny springday in Stockholm.
Quite the same climate than in Austria.
IMO Victoria was recycling the prettiest gala dress she has and it is nice to see her hair with a wave this time. IMO the grand duchess looked esp. lovely too, though I do not agree that the she is chubby or anything, just a figure like most women of her age.
The queen worn the blouse in China July 2006 and the skirt to many times.
The gown of Princess Madeleine is new, I think!
Didn't Princess Madeleine wear that gown to a wedding, I believe she was a bridesmaide.
